OEM parts?

Hi,

I am getting timing belt and water pump done for
$325 parts and labour on 87 LXI (includes valve adjustment, gaskets and belts). Those guys claim to use OEM parts they get for less, but wouldn't let me bring my parts. They specialize in hondas. Give one year warranty. What kind of chances am I taking with their parts?

Why don't you just ask them to let you see the parts when you drop the car off or before they do the work. Then you'll know if they're giving you OEM or a load of bull.

If they use OEM parts, you have no worries. Honda stuff is quality and you can trust it.

Most places want to charge you the markup on parts. that's why they don't want you to bring your own. They don't know the condition of the parts and won't want to warrenty the work in that case. Just ask to see the parts. If they say no take your car elsewhere.
