Hi everyone! My name is Øyvind Ryeng, 20 years old, and I live in the north of Norway. Thought you might like some pics of my car; an 1987 Honda Accord 2.0i EX (equivalent to your LXi). Got an A20A4 under the hood, totally stock, 12 valves, 122 horsepower @ 5500 RPM, and 166 newtonmetres of torque @ 5000 RPM. Sorry 'bout the poor pics, I was a total newbie in the world of photography back then, so no tripod for the camera in the dusk.

Snowy & dark.

Nice accord:D
What do you mean bad photography... that shot of the rear of your car and the snow capped mountains is awesome.

Thanks! Well, I could have used a tripod for the camera, that would have made the image as sharp as a knife. Now you can see it's slightly blurred, plus I had to use an awfully high ISO-speed to get as short as possible exposure time (witch means that the camera amplifies the signal (light) from the CCD, but it also amplifies noise). Maybe I am a perfectionist, but a bad picture is (almost) worse than no picture. ;)

The pic of my Audi is somewhat better; I managed to capture the light shining off the side of the car in an acceptable way. The lights also brings forth the shapes of the car. But rest asured; more pictures will come!

The dark area on the trunk lid are glue-remains from the Norwegian DMV's one-day-plates-to-test-drive-your-car. It's not really plates, it's more like a sticker. Pretty expensive ones, at $25 a day. You have to use them if your car is not registered (white plates with two letters and five numbers). The Police actually took the plates off my car by force, because I was running late with the "EU-checkup" (something we have to go trough every other year; they check the car for faults in the brakes/suspension/steering etcetera.

EDIT: Plans for the car includes the following:
*Completely gutted interior (not so difficult to to)
*1/2 Rollcage behind the front seats ( 1/1 rollcage goes all the way to the dashboard)
*Sparco Sprint seats in red (they are sitting in my basement now)
*Fully built A20 /w low-comp-pistons, conrods, light headwork, turbo from Volvo/Saab/etc. (lots of them around here; equivalent to your Talon/DSM, I guess), Volvo/Scania (freight truck) intercooler, Haltech or Autronic programmable fuel- and ignition system, Bosch 044 fuel pump etc...
*5-speed manual transmission (in the car now) with LSD
*White Compomotive rallywheels (7*17"?)
*Shaved side mouldings, door handles and emblems
*Repaint in Championship White
*Light window tint all-round
*Xenon bodykit
*Last but not least: removal of [device in the middle, lower back of the car that is used to tow things with; don't know the English word for it]

PS: Car costs approx. $3000 , and one litre fuel (92 RON) $1,40. :(

Nice car! And welcome to the forum. You actually live close to me considering everyone else :) Hmm if your going to post pictures of your car I might as well do to.

Bah... that is what jpeg editors are for. :D

I cleaned the car, got rid of the DMV sticker residue and the trailer hitch, and sharpened the image.

thegreatdane: Yeah, show me the pics! :)

Moodybluesr: Thanks, looks great!

Dennis: Yeah, I am loving the Euro/Jspec front end. The US-front looks kind of complicated.

How come almost all the Euro Accords have trailor hitches? Your car looks good otherwise. I'd like to have a Euro version to park next to my USDM version.

SteveDX89: I don't know! The trailor hitch sucks! The Accord is not ment to pull trailers (other than towing Hyundais to the repair-shop). :)

accordlxi2.0: I read somewhere online that Honda named the car "Accord" because of it beeing in balance with nature, and to promote peace between the people of the world, or something like that. Can't remember the URL; sorry.

RustyHo88: Hehe, thanks. It's so simple, I just drawed what came to mind, very easy and easily understandable explination of what 'Nm' is. :)

Took a few pics today. Nothing spectacular, just some random snapshots:
(Sorry about the fugly wheels and the general "run-down" look of the car)

Nice Accord! I'd definitely like to get a 3gee with that front clip, I wonder how hard it would be to convert...

Oyvind Ryeng
04-24-2004, 10:56 PM
I'm sure the JDM/Euro-front conversion would be possible to do on your USA-spec Accords. The cars are practically the same. Here in Norway you could get a non-running, rusty 3G with a carburetted engine for approx. USD$1000 (no kidding). However, the cost of shipping the car (or what's left of it) across the Atlantic would be quite high. But still, it is a do-able project, only takes time and money.

New wheels are in the works, and some rust-removing. Also a new rear bumper.

hah, in America we can get a running 3g for less than $500.....

Oyvind Ryeng
04-25-2004, 08:22 AM
Yeah, cars are insanely expensive in Norway. :(

A conversion is possible, since an aerodeck can be converted to stationary headlights.
