Trunk Leaks 88 Accord

In the botton of the trunk, under or near the spare there is a black rubber plug that appears to be designed to drain water. Mine was partially plugged and the trunk had about 2 quarts of water in it. I could not find any other leaks using the hose. Is it possible that water was entering from the bottom thru this plug?

Check the weather strip around your trunk real good. That sounds like a lot of water to be splashed up into the trunk. And I don't know if it would be possible to get in thru that drain hole.

It's not possible for water to enter through the bottom. The strips may have tiny cracks (invisible to the naked eye) which causes the leaks. Good luck.
