Auto tranny problem *gasp

Hy guys
My 88 accord lx was in an accident recently and ever since that the tranny has been acting weird. When it shifts into reverse it makes a clunking noise, and when im on a highway the car has very little accelerating power. Also my transmission seems to switch to lower gears at a higher rpn than usuall. Its been about 3 monthes since my accident and it hasn't gotten any worse. A freind said it could be just a bent or loose pin or something. I don't know what to do. Could you help.

I agree the accident may have pushed / pulled something out of allignment. Mainly the shifter cable under the car.
I'm going to have pics of the shifter case removed soon and that should help me explain things a bit more...

Also there may be a problem with the throttle value cable to the trans.
