Jesus, wtf did you smoke?

Anyway Brentm dont mind him, is your car an auto or 5spd? #16 looks like air suction valve hose. I can see #15 coming from the emission control box, so see if u can see a cut hose #16 from the emission control box.

okay check this out go here http://www.geocities.com/accord89lx/intake.html and scroll down to the 4th pic or soemthing and u will find the schematic. its one of ur thermovalves and of course it goes to ur emissions box too via a T junction so i guess ur T-junction came off.

86 Accord is somewhat different from 87..89s.
That #16 goes to a gray thermovalve to the left of the black one in ur pic. Cannot see gray thermovalve in ur pic maybe is behind where #16 and TV cable crosses..
From gray thermovalve there is another #16 going to EGR.
Another useful vac. diagram for 86 Accord: Paul's manual, page 11-6

I don't think there is a second thermovalve... maybe though
I would say it goes to the black box but it comes out in front of the intake instead of behind it... I don't think I've ever had hoses running from the front to the Black box.

Anyways here is a pic... I saw a vacuum line (HIGHLIGHTED IN BLUE) in the rear that could also be going to the second thermovalve to the left... if so I suppose #16 is it's partner.

ok laugh at me for trying to learn

Sorry - really. I am not a mechanic either & I removed all my vacuum lines for several reasons:

1 - too confusing, if something went wrong I doubt I'd have any clue how to fix the problem, let alone find the problem

2 - my car is old, which means the vacuum lines will eventually (probably) start failing - splitting, coming off, cracking, blah, blah, blah and I thought removing them would give me a more reliable car

3 - it was a challenge - turned out to be much easier to remove them than I thought

Yes, my first comment was in very bad taste, but I didn't think of that when I posted it, nor was that my intention. Basically, I thought I was laughing at how I used to have a similar problem and my expression of that was careless and downright stupid. Sorry again. If I could turn back time . . .

(oh great, now that stupid Cher song will be in my head all day - guess that's the payback for being a jerk).

Hindsight is always 20/20.

ok here is the picture of vacuum lines.
86-87 had identical vacuum lines and 88-89 has identical vacuum lines.
it is a big picture so hold on.
