Hey guys, i know there's a how to on the cold air intake for carb. Like i know wat materials i need (ie. civic air box) but i don't know how to hook the vacumn lines up. like witch ones goes together, which ones gets hooked on to the intake pipe. I knoiw there's a how to that explains this, but i find it very vague. i'm still confused on where all the vacumns go and which ones to plug and all that. If some one got a better how too, please please PLEASE send it to my email or give me a good link. Thanks

Well the last link should explain everything.
http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=12208
"If you are installing an intake you need hose #16 and hose #17 from above connected together on a single vacuum connector. Then from there you can connect the hoses to the cold or short ram intake pipe.
The PCV filter hose also connects to the intake pipe.
#16 and #17 are the only 2 hoses you use. The other hoses that come off the intake should be plugged."
All hoses that are affected by removing the aircleaner are highlighted in yellow (in the pic provided in the link)

ok ok, i think i can find # 16, but where is the pcv filter hose? and then there's the big pipe/valve that connects from the bottom of the black sqare pipe that connects to the stock airbox. that big valve runs to the manifold i think, wat do i do with that?

Well #16 wont have a # on it... it's just the big fat hose on the underside of the intake.

The PCV filter hose is the tube that comes off the top of the valve cover and connects to a small box with 2 screws on it.. on the drivers side of the airbox.

The air suction box on the rightside of the carb near the vavle cover has a funky looking silencer tube coming out of it, it looks like a pipe that has an extra sealed tube coming off of it.
The silencer can be removed.

Don't throw anything away... you might need the stock bits to pass inspection.

Is this only for those who are using the civic air box? I have almost finished making my own adapter, so would I just plug #16 & #17, or should I connect the two in a fitting? Or can somone explain what the vaccum activates on the civic air box?

Thanks, Matt

it doesn't activate anything, but if you want you should drill holes for the two air bleed valves on the stock air box and install them inside the civic air box you your own custom adapter... as for the 16 & 17 yes connect them together and connect them to the air box.
http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=38108

that link shows you 16 and 17 hooked together and hooked to the air box.

Ya I know, but I mean im making an adapter to replace the Civic air box, I know a few poeple around here have done it. What should I do with the two vac lines. Or are you sayin to connect the two in a "T" fitting, to one of the bleeders off of the stock air box, if so why couldn't I just cap these two vaccum lines off?

Thanks, Matt

One of the Air bleeds is supposed to bleed vacuum at a certain temp to run the hot air door on the stock air box... not sure what the other one does.
Anyways you only need one air bleed (#33) since you are using a custom air box.
(#8) Air bleed you can remove and plug the vacuum port on the metal vacuum tubes.

#16 and #17 are a part of choke and emissions and all that, so I would connect them to a "T" and then to the air box like how Mindlos did in the link I posted in my other post.

If you just plug things then don't expect your car to function properly... some people did the vacuum line removal mod. The mod removed most of the carb and emissions controls so the air bleeds were not needed anymore. Unless you plan to remove all the vacuum lines I would keep #33 #17 and #16, and just hook up your intake and leave the rest alone.
