I may have you beat ... just picked up this 1998 Accord EX V6 leather for a measley $500 ...
(and no I did not forget any zeroes).

I am not kidding about the price ... but it did not look like this when I bought it. It was all faded out (had it totally detailed) and the woman who had it ran over something and took out the oil pan, 'B' pipe, all 3 heat shields, rear O2 sensor, and pushed the floor up slightly in the right rear. I took my chances buying it because the woman said she only drove it about 1/2 mile after hitting whatever it was. I put the oil pan on and ran the car and it was as quiet as a church mouse. The insurance company would not total it and she did not want to fix it ... so she opted to sell it to me. She said that the money the insurance company gave her was okay and she would be happy with $500 for the car the way it was. It does NOT have a salvaged title either ... totally clean. It has 157,000 miles on it (just broken in). I also found a receipt in the glove box from Sears where the woman had just gotten 4 new Michelin MXV4 plus tires, mounted and balanced and 4WA ... for a total of $675.00 :D

I am in the process of fixing it up. I am driving it every day. I have started fixing it by adding the wood grain panel around the streo/climate control panel, and put black chrome emblems (original Honda accessory) on the car. I have an XM radio to install yet as well as 17" gunmetal wheels and black JDM headlights and carbon fibre tail-lights. The windows are going to get tinted black and the chrome around the side windows is going to be powder coated black. It will be getting a very dark gray (almost black) pinstripe so you REALLY have to look to see it. I am stealthing this baby out. :) I am also thinking about lowering it maybe a couple of inches. Will decide about that once the new wheels & tires are on it.

The nice thing about all this is I am an ex-Honda tech ... now a service coordinator for a Honda dealer. I still work on them and get my parts at 10% over cost. Can't get much better then that.

I will post pics as soon as I get the items installed. I should have everything here by the end of next week.

I am an ex-Honda tech at a dealership in Dover DE. I have been around Hondas since 1984. I am now the service coordinator there and oversee the entire shop. I was the one in contact with the woman who had this happen to her. When she decided not to fix it she came to me and asked me if I knew anyone who might be interested in purchasing it since she did not feel comfortable driving it even if it got fixed right. I told her I might be and asked what she wanted. She gave me the price and I bought it. I realize that it is hard to believe in this day & age that someone could buy one of these for that kind of money ... but I did.

I personally do not care if YOU do not believe that I got this for what I did ... but I know that I did. I am 53 years old and do not have to come in here to lie about something like this. I just saw this post about what a good deal the guy got on his Accord and decided to put the information in on the one I was able to aquire.

You also mentioned that the pictures were taken off a website. That is true. It is a website that I built for a friend of mine. I used the file manager to link pictures to forums from. If you go to the site and go to the bottom you will see my name there as the builder and maintainer of it.
