Ok,

I can't tell you any price but I can tell you that I got it for a very reqasonable price.

The engine was sitting outside, just like a pile of junk. There are other B20As at this place and I could get them for you. However, they are all autos and are only 86-87.

The one I found was the only 88-89 around town, the others are in better cosmetical shape but I don't care.

So I brought it home, the distributor cap is dead and the other sensor too (on the exhaust cam) The guy just gave me used ones to replace them. The PS pulley is bent too but I'll use another used pulley

The only problem is the Auto tranny that came with it. It's in good shape but I don't want to use it. I did find a 86-87 tranny that I'll buy soon.

The engine is just greasy and the valve cover needs painting, Other than that it's nice,

As you can see I whiped the B20A marking and it still shines like new.

I just need to buy a gen1 integra distributor now.

how do you know that that is the b20a for the accord and not the prelude?

carotman

because I am god.

And the B20A for the Accord is only labeled B20A, and nothing else.

Second, it leans forward in the engine bay, the one for the prelude 3g leans backwards

3- it shares the same mounting points.

ok i'm lost, i just looked under the hood of a prelude that did a swap and it had a b20a, and that was all that was labled. i have talked to others, and they only say that there is one b20a, and that is for the prelude. i keep trying to tell them that there is one for the accord but they dont listen. i need to find where i can get one of these engines complete.

carrot, can you post two pictures?

1-head gasket.b20a

2-headgasket.a20a

does the a20a and the b20a share the same transmission?

The B20A and A20A do not share the same transmission.

so what year/make/model did that motor originally come from? HP rating? and do you need custom drive shafts and motor mounts when you goto install it? or can you just bolt it in? do you have to change you wiring harness and ecu again since you just did your efi conversion?

lots of questions, but please answer as many as you can, looks like a project for the wifes car perhaps....

That engine came from an Accord or Accord CA

The car model is CA3 -120

i don't understand why it's such a big deal to get a 5 speed on that motor, why would honda manufacture a totally different trans for that motor? maybe it's stronger?

I dunno either, I'm glad I found a manual transmission to go with it tough.

I'll just be really careful not to break it hehe

Well couldn't you just use a prelude tranny? Or are they not compatible....

Congrats on the find! Also, I've mentioned this a few times before (but nobody seems to listen LOL) but Mike Lee's B20 came with an auto but he slapped on a 5 speed Redshift had in stock. So I highly doubt there is a difference between the two. He did run into problems with the flywheel which was later solved but I think that was because Redshit gave him the wrong one.

Im curious to know, what is the difference between the B20A from the Prelude and Accord. Mine was swapped in from a prelude just before I bought it, the manual transmission is from the prelude as well. I managed to pick up my Accord cheaper than the stock auto's for sale locally and mine is in better condition than the others I see around. My good friend picked one up (B20A as well) about a couple of weeks after me from his mechanic (same person i got mine from) We are the only ones we know of as all the other Accords here are Autos except for the odd 1.8L manual. Im not to sure on the details of the swap and how he did it, the only problem I came across was finding a replacement CV joint as the standard Accord CV didn't fit properly. Both engines were from 89 Preludes. Neither of us have seen anyother 2.0 L manual Accords.
