so i've been eyeing the goodies at k-modified racing, and i'm definitely getting me some of that, but one item that particularly caught my eye was the rebuilt transmissions. i'd like a transmission with tighter gear ratios.
so my question here is:
does anyone have this transmission?
is it any good? or should i go with the A18 prelude swap? or perhaps i should leave my old one in...
also, i don't know much about gear ratios, does anyone know enough to tell me if this is built for general racing purposes or a specific application (like drag racing)
thx a lot in advance

i think the tranny K-mod has it for drag racing.
i don't think you want to use it for a daily driver.
the gears too tall and you will have to run at high rpm all the time even on highways.

Search for hybrid integra trans.

INTEGRA / ACCORD HYBRID TRANS HOW-TO (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=7387)

what kind of ratios am i looking at, and is the phantom grip LSD for the accord or integra tranny?

The phantom grip LSD will not be listed for our accords so you'll have to get the one for the teg....

well I belive K-mod uses the teg hybrid tranny so go with that set up. I have the teg tranny, teg differental, and accord 5th. It is really quick and my gas milage isn't too bad. You will have about a 1200 rpm difference in the shift between 4th and 5th so thats different but you will still get ok highway MPG. But you can use the accord differental and you will keep your same highway crusing speed cause right now at 75mph in 5th I run 3200rpm when stock is for 5th 90mph at 3200rpm.

thx a lot!
performance is more important than gas mileage IMO, but...
i can get 2 trannies for $150 so that's an awesome upgrade...
(scurries off to the junkyard to find an integra)

i can get a full engine (block, head and all internals) for $150

You have to be talking about Crazy Rays because that's the only spot I know in MD with prices that low..... I pulled my tranny from them and it only cost me $75 as well..... :)

No doubt, I always find what I'm looking for at that spot.... I found this new yard down in Bladensburg, it's smaller than Crazy Rays but their prices are the same and the guy told me that most of their cars are abandoned cars so most of the cars there don't have any damage to them.... I went wild at that place....
