actually.. thats not all that bad. I am usually gettin anywhere from 510kms - 540kms an a tank of gas.. thats city driving. and for our accords, thats pretty much average. but when I go on a trip like on the Hwy, I can get close to 630 or more on a tank.

so i wouldn't worry, your in the same ball park i am.
but if you want

try changing your airfilter, spark plugs or pcv valve. o rget new wires. these will help in better mileage

Man I wish I could get as much as you. I get 500 city if I run it dry. In the winter about 400, but that's normal

also make sure you have the correct tire pressure, that can cause bad gas milage as well.

hey Matty_StyLz your working in metric right? if your getting 500 miles to a tank let me know what your doing....:smokin: but i drove 300 miles exact..the trip odomiter was exactly on 300 miles and i put 14.5 gallons in(donno how many litters) so do the math thats about 20-21 mph so...anyone else have and opinion let me know...................

I am getting about 250-270 on a tank of gas and that's with my car needing a tune up so I think that's average. I do mostly freeway driving.

it is a winter, and gas companies add some kind additive. it some how reduces the mileage. i guarantie you will see the milage go up in the summer.
the other thing you can do is replace the stock filter with K&N filter.

damn..i only do 230-250 here

The average I get is 300-325. the moston a full tank is 356 miles exact :D:D

The biggest that held me back was bad O2 sensors, (these need replacing every 50,000) Timing another factor, Tune up (wires, Plugs, Cap & Rotor button) K&N is a good filter choice www.ajusa.com is where I got mine from free Shipping.
As for MPG I personally have never gotten better than 335 on the Hwy @ 95 mph.
Check your compression and valve clearance.
Hope this helps, LOL

43 MPG on the highway for me.
I get areound 32 in the city if I am super nice.

Things that effect gas mileage are fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, plug wites, cap and rotor, coil, timing, tire pressure, alignment, O2 sensor, PCV valve, grade of gas you use (I use 91 most of the time). Also try to keep the rpms between 2,500 and 4,000 RPMs.

Kroy, you've done the Vacuum Line Removal, right?
Did that help with the gas milage?

so how do u really fix the milage of the tank and what are the really major parts that i should replace because i don't have that much money left. Mine is a 89-lxi coupe.

Thanks. I pay $25 a week for gas..

dude dont complain man, i think i have it fixed now but i acouple tanks ago was getting about 12MPG 14 gallon tank and only 150-200 miles on it!!werd i got my new tstat put in and ive noticed my mpg way better and also my car drives better. i got 315 miles for $18.50 and gas was $1.53, so do the math. (this is after i put the new tstat in) before it was like 13-15 mpg.

the recipie for sucess that gave me DRAMATICALLY better gas mileage:

replace injectors if they are leaking
NEW PCV valve HUGE DIFFERENCE (~$3.00)
new o2 sensors (2 connector-less NGK for ~$36.00)NOPI
new plugs (NGK v-power 4 for ~$8.00)NOPI
new wires ($10-$20)
new thermostat if your car dosent warm up to half way between L and H
(its redicloulsy critical for fuel economy that your car warms up!) ($16.00 at OEM at dealer with gasket)
new cap and rotor ($ 12.00 set)NOPI
adjust your timing to spec (need timing light)
tire pressure and alignment (alighnment around $50.00)
gas cap (if crapped up) (~$7.00)

assuming your injectors are fine and you dont need an alignment, this all shoudl cost less than $100 if you do it your self. i would reccomend buying all the stuff from NOPIONLINE.com at once that you need, good deal, just dont get the wires there... if oyu need a new thermostat get a new honda oem one with gasket from the dealer

i havent even done the timing, alignment, or cap and rotor and im getting REDICLOUSLY more MPG

i got a new coil though which may not be a bad idea, pick your self up a MSD BLASTER 2, it looks slick as hell and helps idle and performance a little bit and will replace your faulty coil if it is faulty. I also have a CAI which probably helps a little with less restriction

so far im about 1/6 through the tank and im at like 70miles before i woudl be at bout half tank at 70 miles!!

also you probably dont need to worry about high octane fuel either, not gonna help, just costs more unless you have HIGH COMPRESSION (our cars=low compression)

ill let you guys know what you MPG is once im done with the tank, its lookin like it might just be close to 30MPG city!

I would pay attention to his list it can be suprising how little stuff can have big affect.

what you mean by a tank. Do you run to the fuel light?

I tend to fill after using approximately 8-10 gallons and get roughly 270miles.

what exactly is a pcv valve and what does it do? how do you install one?

Located on our intake just under the throttle boby cable wheel. I just take mine off and clean every six months/year whenever I remember with throttle body cleaner ours doesn't rattle there is a spring that opens under pressure and as long as this spring works its fine, besides they are $18.00 at the dealer.
Hope this helps.

Take yer foot off the frickin gas, I find that always increases your gas mileage! LOL

most u guys are lucky. i used to get 500km - 600km per tank now i'm lucky to get 400. ive done eveything: injectors, tune up, air filter, exhaust work, etc. i dont know what next
also im idling high 1500-2000 any ideas

Yea I did that mod, I think it helped a little bit. The throttle is more responsive so i don't have to dog on it as much, especially below 3,000 rpms.

Is the following statement basically true:

The same mods that allow your car to go faster using the same amount of fuel can allow it to be driven normally using less fuel.

??

I got my 2.25 inch exhaust now, it I'm saving significantly on gas (I'm a delivery driver, so the MPG is important to me). I assume that a performance header and CAI will also help my MPG after I stop stomping it.

you don't need to replace o2 sensors every 50k miles. I had the stock ones till 150K miles, atleast I think they were stock.

My O2's lasted until near 2k as I recall. But my car was taken very good care of.
