... and a couple other pics too. Some may remember from about a year ago, I painted my 2nd gen Prelude valve cover blue. Anyways, that one was really starting to show it's age and was looking pretty bad, so I decided to paint up the stock Accord valve cover and stick it on. The color of the new one is "new ford grey", with the letters, lines and emblem sanded down to the bare aluminum. Then put a couple coats of clearcoat over it so it stays nice for awile.

All clearcoated and fresh out of the oven!

what are all those wires? specifically asking for the yellow and red wires on the right.

Looks good, but I like the flat paint look, but I don't think high enamel has that right?

LOL.... I really need to clean all those wires up! The red wires are for the speaker for my alarm, and the yellow wires are for the signal lights you see in the last 2 pictures. That's 30 feet of yellow wire I used, LOL, and they go into a relay (down where they all go down by the cruise control).

I do agree with you... I like the flat textured paint as well, like the black that came stock on ours. When it's in good shape the factory ones actually look really good! A little change never hurts anything though, for awile at least....

Thats a nice looking valve cover. I've got to paint mine since it's got some chips in it and your technique looks great. I'm gonna try that. Good work.

Thanks for all the compliments!! :D The color is grey, not silver. In the pictures it does kinda look silver, but for some reason it looks alot lighter in the pics than it really is, probably cuz of the flash or something (taking them at night)

For whoever asked, I'll take pics of everything I used, maybe even make a lil how-to, lol.

you would be 'The-Man'

its really nice to finally see some engine colours that arn't blinding red or yellow or something questionable like that. Sometimes understatment says more.

who says it is an understatement? I like it. Do high temp enamel paint come in flat colors? All i see on valve covers is gloss gloss gloss.

who says it is an understatement?

I did  All i meant was that it doesnt jump out and say "LOOK AT ME" it just flows with the various colours and metalic parts in the engine bay. mabe sleek sutble is more descriptive than understated.
