Question...I just dropped another automatic transmission in my car 2 days ago. My car now changes gears slowly...like it's stuck. It takes me a while to reach around 20-30mph. This only happens when you first drive the car and when the car has been driven for awhile..the transmission changes normally. I took the car back to the mechanic and had them adjust the transmission cable. My car never did this when I had my old trans. What could be the problem. Do I have to adjust the tranny cable a little bit more or something? Did they install my trans correctly or is there something internally wrong with my new trans.

Help....

:dunno: :help:

You may need more fluid, check the level right after you turn off the car... but after the trans has warmed up.

If the TV/Kickdown cable is too tight it will hold gears longer, but it will be constant, and not temperature dependant.

Sounds like it has something to do with the fluid.

What is the TV/Kickdown cable? So you think it's the tranny fluid or this cable. How many quarts of tranny fluid should you put in? The mechanic put in some tranny fluid, but I'm not sure how many quarts. I don't want to over do it. At what level should the tranny fluid be on my dipstick.
