Why not keep with the theme and get Infinity perfect 10's?

Just curious why you chose Kicker subs.

Looks good otherwise.

Peace out..

I'm not much of a fan of kicker either....

Ummmm, how could you not be a fan of kicker. They are known as some of the best subs ever made. Also, can you find me two infinity 10s (dual voice coil) for $160 shipped? I'd be amazed if you could.

Also, do you guys think i'll need a capacitor? And I was thinking of running 0/1 guage to the trunk and then using the distribution block to break it off to two 4 guage, one for each amp. Does that sound good or too big? Thanks guys.

On the 1000 watt amp it may be worth using 4 guage wire if the amp will accept it, on the other amp I would not go below 8 guage.....I doubt the amp would even accept that guage of wire. And when you are pushing 1000 or so watts to those kickers, you will know what I mean when you are buying new speakers. Goodluck.

umm why would you pay so much money for expensive components and then get a friggin bolt amp????

what's wrong with using the 1000d on the kickers? Why is that a bad idea?

because a 1000d will easily do 1200+ watts with steady voltage, and those crappers, i meen kickers ,,definatly wont handle 600 a peice

Well, assumming the subs are 4-0hm dual voice coils(which I think they are), depending on how he wires them, he will either end up with a 1 or 4 ohm load. I'm pretty sure the amp won't handle the 1 ohm load so he will be forced to wire it in 4ohm, thus he will only be using 600 of the amps wattage which is safe for the subs..

Having said that, then I question why one would buy such a powerfull amp and only use half its power.

He could have saved money buying a smaller amp or used the money for better subs(ie. The infinities that I suggested earlier). Wire the infinities in parallel would result in a 2ohm load. 1000watts would definitely rock the infinities which would be able to handle the power..

That's all i have to say.

Peace out y'all

And your point is? Lightning audio is a cheap version of RF and I don't think RF is very good in the first place...

Do yourself a favor and get an Alpine or an Xtant amp to run the components and Coax speakers... What you do for your subs is up to you.

The reason I'll be using the Bolt for the infinity's is because I already have it, and I like it. It sounds actually really nice. Anyway, can someone find me an amp for less than $225 that will put out between 300-450 watts rms x 2? If so, let me know. You guys might actually have me leaning toward getting infinity's.

Hello?!!

Check out the JBL BP600.1. It is only a one channel amp but is capable of running 1 ohm loads. At 1 ohm, it will give out 600w. Just what you need for the kickers if you still want to go with those. Depending where you look, you can get one on the web for around $200-$250. Right in your price range.

Peace out....

Not exactly. Yes the JBL is capable of 1 ohm loads but it puts out 600 watts at 2 ohms, not one. At one it puts out a more but not too much more because it is not the most efficient amp out there. And its closer to like $180 bucks for one on eBay...

peace :flash:

so dave do you have a better recommendation? Also, how are the infinity references? Are they good or bad? I might go for the kappas at a later date, but the references are cheap right now.

Well, I was mainly correcting what 89accordlxi said that they put 600 out at 1 ohm which was incorrect.

I have heard good things about those JBL amps. Supposed to be pretty decent. I have heard some infinity reference setups that are pretty nice. Those things can handle a LOT of power...

If I were you, I'd go to www.carreview.com and look up any amp/sup/speaker/etc. you are going to get before you buy it. There is some great information there. Just click on "car audio" and then "reviews" and look up the stuff you are wanting to buy.

If money wasn't an issue, go for Boston Pro subs. I haven't heard anything that pounds harder or more accurately

i would toss the kickers.... my buddy lent me his for a while, and they are two 12"s. LOUD like as in A LOT of db, but shitty sound. they're made for competition, not sound quality.

I was not incorrect, I just wasn't completely correct. I know that the jbl gives out 600w @ 2 ohms. I was just commenting that it would provide the 600w that he needed in 1 ohm as well. The manual says that the amps power doesn't increase much when decreased to 1 ohm so I just used the 600w number since I don't know the exact wattage at 1 ohm..

Thats all

Peace out..

The kickers will sound great in the right enclosure. I think they are a good choice. I also question the amplifier choices, but whatever floats your boat. I am anti caps so I would say no...All they do is discharge quickly and become a load on your charging system. I would run 4 guage power wire into a fused dustribution block and run 8 gauge into the amplifiers.
