Help!

Help, I removed my valve cover to paint it and now I can't remember how the seal goes back in! There are two tabs on one side and one tab on the other, I assume that the two tabs goe towards the timing belt. Am I right or wrong?

I checked my Haynes manual but it doesn't say anything, I aso loked at the digital pic I took beforehand just in case) but I can't make it out. The seal didn't come with any directions.

Yup, tabs go toward the timing belt. If you look at the cylinder head you'll see that it curves on the dist side and has straight corners on the timing belt side.

Thank God! I went ahead and installed it anyways (bad me, I shoulds waited till someone replied). At least I can drive home without the paranoia. Thanks for your response, much appreciated.

No problem man, glad to help.
BTW, did you put some red RTV silicone on the gasket when you installed it? Probably still be ok if you didn't, but the silicone makes it less likely it will leak.
