So, I did the red gauges, and it's been cool, but I always wanted UV gauges, SO! Here is what I'm doing. I just ordered the 7 bulbs you need for behind the gauges and the two for the top. The ones that will go behind the gauges are all UV LED's. The ones that will go over the gauges will either be UV led's or Blue. We'll see what happens.

So you're using the stock gauges, with UV? If not, how is putting UV lights behind the guage's going to help at all?

Yeah, I'm gonna use the stock gauges. It will make the white numbers and what not glow a blue/violet color.
Rick did this, and it got me fired up a while back to try out UV behind it, so I got custom UV leds from www.autolumination.com

We'll see how it all works out. But I'm pretty excited. If it works out well, then I'm gonna attack the rest of my dash.

hmm, i was thinking about changing the number glow color with some led bulbs for mine. i tried the white face gauges, but i dont know why. but i love my black face gagues. anyway, yeah, let us know how that turns out. i'd love to see this pix of that. oh, are the leds like wedge bulbs or will you have to wire them in yourself? i thought i could use some 168 led bulbs in there?

HJ! Here is the info, if you goto www.autolumination.com you will need the following for the Nippon (NS) gauges.

5 - 194's
4 - 74's

It cost me just under $30.

BTW: I just noticed that I only got 4 194's so I'll see when I can get the 5th but I'm gonna try and put them in now anyway.

INSTALLED! PICS COMING TONIGHT. here is what i have to say though. I'm not that improessed with the quallity of the light coming through the gauges. but the light above the gauges rocks. pics will come as soon as the sun goes down.

first impression: It's not easy to read at all! though it looks cool, it would be a lot better if the color behind the lights was easier to read. I'm thinking I might go with Xeon bulbs bhind the gauges and UV above.

Interesting. I think Paul's gauges would look awesome with that setup.

yeah, paul's gauges would look awesome. no doubt, but I'm trying to use what's there. I'm gonna try putting something else behind the UV's so that you can see the letters. but it is cool.

just swapped the reds in behind the gauges, but i think that the LED's are so bright that unless I have LED's behind the gauges it's still going to be hard to see.

Here is the UV's on the top and red hallogen's behind the gauges. No the reds aren't that bringt but it's way better than all UV!

I've been wanting to do this too, but I dont think leds are the way to go. I would use one of those UV sticks(?) that provides real UV lighting.

Did Rick do his with leds? I only want the numbers and the needles to glow, and it looks like Rick's dash is like that.

all rick did was replace the two bulbs uptop of the gauges, the ones behind were stock. The REASON you can't see my numbers better are that the UV's above my gauges are VERY bright compared to the red hallogen's behind the gauges. Solution? Get LED's for both top and behind. I still have yet to do that.

If you want what Rick has, I'll sell you the two top bulb's in blue for $4 shipped (USA).
