When I was doing my timing belt I was going to replace the crank seal, but after looking underneath it appeard oil was coming from every where. Oil pan, Oil filter, crank seal for sure. I siad piss on it. It does not leak enough that requires me to add any beween oil changes. I think it would require a great deal of work to solve this and probably not worth it on a car with 257000 miles.

Mine barely leaks any after 338k miles. It doesn't leak enough to drip or leave any puddles on the ground, just makes the oil pan a lil wet cuz the pan gasket has a lil leak (hey it's original, so it's really no suprise). The rear crank seal was leaking a bit too, but I replaced that at 321k when I did the clutch. I'm gonna do the pan gasket soon. I still only go through about 1/2 quart of synthetic every 5000 miles. Can't complain.... I see alot of newer cars with ALOT less miles, with much bigger oil leaks than mine.

296,000 miles and I leak jusr enough to leave a drop hanging from the bottom of the oil pan (my oil pan gasket is bad also). I leave a drop on the ground about once per week, but between oil changes there isn't a major loss.

If you are doing the timing belt make sure you get the cam seal; when it leaks, it will go all over and make it look like the crank seal, oil pan, etc.

i am about to start using 15w50 as advised by a few people I'd recommend going to 10w40 instead, unless your rings are really worn. 50 weight oil is really thick.

229k used to leak like a bitch and smoke, got it ghetto fixed (slick 50, good oil gasket): a few drops per week on the ground.

Say Jared, 339k is a LOT of miles. Do you have a new motor?

I thought I would be lucky pull my baby through 250+, but now I have a new goal ;)
