My friend and I spray painted the trim on my 87 honda lx with gloss black. I am satisfied with it, but our tape and sarain wrap method of covering up the paint failed us in a few spots. In one spot it is a mist of black paint, and in a small area it driped down. How could I remove this without harming the paint or my freshly applied wax?

Well your lucky you just applied wax to it. More then likely the spray just got on the wax. Take some lighter fluid to that area it will remove the new wax and spray. Then rewax that area.

there's a downside to that... lighterfluid can be really bad on your paint, too...

what i personally suggest is a claybar... if this shit will get 2 year old road paint off of my dad's truck and not hurt the paint, it sure as hell will do what you want, and it'll do it properly

That is true it's not good for the paint, but it shouldn't be a problem if it's only on there for few seconds and he reapplies the wax right away. Claybar is also an excellent idea.

I used goo off.....but you have to apply to a rag or something and rub it off dont put it on the car itself

I use goof off also and it doesn't harm the paint. Just don't use a lot of it. Use a tiny tiny bit.

Just go to the high pressure spray carwash.

If they just painted the trim it may be a little soft yet, the pressure spray may very well take some of the paint of of the trim.

I used some black shoe polish on my trim today, and it worked wonders!

look into the "How-to" section in the forums. I still havent gotten the paint off, but I will go pick up some goo off at Auto Zone and try that.

I just want to state that you do want to be careful with all of these chemicals, if used in excess or left on the car they will cause the clear coat to become cloudy or start peeling off.

Paint just chips off too, even the bumper paint.
