Alright guys I'm almost done with tuning my carb I just need to buy some more jets to find the right one for my secondary main jet. I raced my 94 Prelude Si with my Accord and I beat the Prelude. My Accord has never felt this fast ever. Here's some brand new pics of the motor for you. I finally have all of my powdercoated components on now. And I finally installed a bunch of things that were just lying around for quite some time.

I hope that you guys like what I have done with the car. I also got a chrome heat shield for my air filter next to the Power Steering resevoir.

Very awsome work, i don't think I would have chosen yellow for the wires but it still looks good. What do u have your plugs gapped at currently? Are you just running the coil or did you replace your ignition system?

I just have the Accel coil for now. Yellow isn't my choice either. I have a blue set of Cranes for a spare set so I will just change those and have my yellows for a spare set. I have my plugs gapped at .050

I plan to install a digital ignition system soon.

Looks good Mike

Yeah the yellow is getting more and more out of place... also the zip ties should be red... I see some red ones already.

Yeah I don't know what I did with my red ones. I will have to keep looking around for them b/c it would look a little better without the white zip ties.

I'm just on a little break from work and I figured I would stop at home and check out the site. I just raced a 97 or 98 Civic EX with a fart cannon on and I beat him pretty damn good. I can't wait until I get the carb rejetted. It would be really nice to get a Weber 38 though :)

dude u seriously need to run at a track so i know if all the hard work u have put into the carbed accord makes it competive! it seems like it should be pretty quick/ ;)

Well I'm planning on going to this one this summer sometime with a fellow 3geez member. It's in Wisconsin so it's pretty close by. I really want to get some time slips for my car. Hopefully the g/f will let me get some nitrous so I can juice up the accord :)

Lol... I missed that. I must have some internal spell check that fixes the variations of Carb automaticly.

Why not just get a red cotton sock? Is is the spoon made out of a different material or something? I find it ridiculous to put a brand name sock on your brake fluid can.

I believe the Fork socks only come in the blue color ;) I might just put my Nike socks on there j/k. I will probably get some type of cover for the brake fluid and power steering fluid resevoirs.

Thanks for all the compliments. I just wish AOM wasn't mainly just body appearance b/c I would have a chance if it were performance and looks.

I think it's funny how you don't have your strut bar anymore

Mike's89AccordLX
04-11-2004, 08:09 AM
I think it is too, considering if you look close enough it wouldn't be able to fit smartass.

Mike's89AccordLX
04-11-2004, 08:37 AM
And when I sold my old intake setup the strut bar went with it as a package deal. It's not possible to fit that strut bar with the intakes that I have now. I wish I could make it work b/c now my cornering is noticibly worse than it was.

Well you made it seem like you were saying that they were bad or something. So that's why I said that.

yeah, it did kinda come out the wrong way, my bad. I wish I had that setup when I had an lx though

Here's the Spoon Sports Resevoir covers I was thinking about getting after I re-jet my carb again.

Yes i looks great good job on all of your hard work. The thing that is connected to the cold air intakes is the air filter thing right? Mine doesn't look like that that is why i am asking mine is Bigger and like a rectangle.

Do you have a CAI now? Mike has a dual short ram intake, there is one laying in his engine bay and the one with the plexi box around it is right underneath the hoodscoop he has.

BKKloppenborg, You have a stock carb perhaps?

Well the crane wires are now blue (I switched them with my other set) And I'm in the process of correctly jetting the carb now. Right now my secondary Main is at 200 and it still leans out a little at 4500rpms. I'm thinking I might need to get me primary bigger. The primary is at 150. Is it possible to have a messed up air correction jets that would cause this b/c the car runs awesome except at 4500 rpms now. I've changed jets 4 times today. I bought 4 jets and those are all too small. I had to figure out the jet size pattern with this special drill bits at school and I drill my 160 jet to 200. I bought 170, 175,180, and 185. And those were all too small still.

My instructor wants to know if there's a primary air bleed and I can't find anything about that in my Weber book. Do you guys know what that would be on the weber 32/36?

It's o.k., he is very defensive and can take some things personally (like me). Alot of his homemade idea thread encounter doubt, disbelief, and criticism so he retaliates as anyone would.

Nice engine bay Mike, the dual intakes are a very different approach to regular aspiration methods that I have seen employed...
