I noticed yesterday that when I push the gas pedal on my car my lights (interior and headlights) get brighter. What could be causing this?? Is my alternator starting to go?

It may just require that you tighten the alternator belt. However, if that doesn't work, it could be a bad battery, voltage regulator diodes, or alternator brushes.

if your idle is real low it'll do that
