Well today, with the help of my little brother, I removed my A/C compressor. My A/C hasn't worked for years, and my compressor is a Kehin anyway, so I'm glad it's gone. It was a bitch to get off though. Had to move the power steering pump, radiator fan and some other stuff. When Honda put that thing on there they really didn't want anyone to take it off. Glad to remove some dead weight. Now all that's left is the reciever/dryer, the evaporator, and all the lines. Fun, fun, fun.

How did you evacuate if you don't mind my asking?

The system is leaky and there was nothing in it. Made my job a whole lot easier. :D

I cut the hose with metal cutters and ran while the gas leaked out.

I finally removed my condensor and lines and the evaporator this past friday. Fun to see the engine bay a little uncluttered and yeah, i have the stupid compressor still bolted on the block. Funny thing is i removed it and then i put everything back, and now i am removing it again. Good air flow for the radiator nonethe less. ;)

My AC was removed a loooong time ago, and I am glad it's gone. Except when it is 90 degrees out.

I did that in a garage and forgot to walk out. I got pretty lightheaded. :uh:

Did you remove the bracket from the block? That bitch has to be at least 10 pounds.

I had to take the bracket off in order to get the compressor out. I had to move my power steering pump too, and take the bracket off for that too. As well as one of the radiator fans. The compressor and bracket together probably weigh 30-40 pounds. Glad to be rid of that dead weight.

My A/C - Windows down, sunroof open, driving at 60 miles per hour. :D
