'88-89: P/N 30520-PJ0-306, H/C 3368768

The kit includes:
Igniter Unit: P/N 30120-PH7-006
Ignition Coil: P/N 30520-PH6-902
Pressure Regulator,
'86-87: P/N 16740-PJ0-305

Apparently the new coil has a different bracket and sub-cord.
The coil connectors are also different and have to be added to the original wires from the distributor and main wire harness.

hope this helps.

Mine is doing the same thing. What if you just put in a new coil. Will it solve the problem?

you can probably solve this problem with an aftermarket coil and ignition box unit, and an optical trigger conversion kit for the distributor . these are designed to replace points in older ignition systems, but it is much more accurate then the early generation magnetic trigger in our distributors. i think crane makes a kit. if i could ever find a distributor bearing and a seal,i would build one. sorry if this is an old post, but this is updated information. also some updated ignition module information problems on the dx. or lx. the module is exactly the same as the earlier generation acords and civics, but in those cars,it's designed to sit flat on a metal surface with heat sink grease between it and the module. this conducts heat away from the module like the heatsink on a computer board. in our cars however, due to some very poor engineering, the same style module sits up on two metal spacers, away from a metal surface to conduct away heat. with no heat sink grease. if you haven't noticed yet,our cars are prone to ignition module heat problems. i 've had several fail due to heat myself. this can cause a sudden failure that goes away when the module cools, or an intermittent failure that usually shows up as a jumpy tach and misfire, right before it fails for good. my idea i would like to try,is to install one of those new solid state chip coolers on the back of the module, like a computer board, if i can find one that will fit.

Thanks for looking this one back up Lost

I can tell you are doing some homework on the ignition upgrades for carbed cars.
Both GM and Ford vehicles in the 90's started mounting the ign module on the firewall or fender wells in a heat sink. Some of those could possibly be scavenged from JY, just the heat sink plate. They are easy to spot , it looks just like the HEI GM module inside the dizzy but instead is placed inside an alloy looking heat sink base. Same for Ford , looks just like a TFI module but in a heat sink block base on the fender.
I was looking at those Mallory Unilite points converstion kits yesterday in the Summit catalog and was thinking they could be used on 4 cyl but it doesn't say it is for four cyl..is there an adjustment? I know on points 4 cyl are usually gapped more (20-25 thousandths) and 8 cyl are around (14-18) I wonder how that translates? There has to be a four blade reluctor wheel or could the 8 be made to work with some dremel work??
I looked at the Megajolt website and from what I had time see was the MJ system could be had for less than 200.

I know it probably is going to be more desirable to have cam trigger ign for easier fabrication
