Does anyone know if the TEC and Hitachi distributors can be interchanged?
They look to have the same connectors that plug into the coil. I have the Hitachi, but can find several used ones that are TEC. I have a 1988 LX 5-speed.
I have a miss on plugs 2 and 3, but never on 1 or 4. I've replaced plugs, wires, rotor button and cap, and coil and can't fix the miss. It seems to be at lower rpm's under a light load, or when letting off the gas pedal and re-applying the pedal. It never misses when floored or above 3500 rpm.
I'm losing my mind trying to figure out the problem. I've replaced the distributor with another one from a junk yard. It does the same thing.
