i was talking to a friend at work about engines and he was telling me that his friend that ownes a shop has always wanted to put a 6 in a older model accord like a late 80' to early 90's model to see how it runs he said if i wanted to do it all i would have to is pay for the engine and the transmission and he could put it in there. i was kinda like sure uh huh whatever but he actually wants to do it he found a engine and its 920$ but i dont think its gonna fit or even if it does it will proablly run like shit what do u think guys?? :pimp:

what engine are you gonna use?
i don't know anything about engine sizes but i am sure it is possible. he will have to do a hell lot of modifications to it.
if you do that, you will be the only one on the board with V6 under the hood. that would be cool.

MAN! V6 in a 3G, if you are serious about taking that chance than dont put a V6 civic motor in there you would be crazy too, get a 97 NSX motor thats 270Hp and 210 Lbs of Ft Torque, your car will fly!!, and thats before any performance modifcations!!!... well good luck to you and remember this screename and throw me some input on how it ends up i will be hopin it works for ya bcuz that will be sick....:super: GOOD LUCK!

Ok, a v6 in a civic, thats really going to far. I thought they were streching it when they were bending the front radius arms to clean a h22, but that has got to be the most cramed in impractacle swap I have ever seen. The 3g has a bit more room and you might be able to get a small 6 from a 1st gen legend or something in there. Still alot of work for what you gain. Maybe if you could find a fwd tranny for that nsx motor and donald trumps bank acct you could make something of it.

a v6 huh. well, the only v6 i would even contemplate putting in my car would be the accord v6. since its fro fwd. since most v6's are rwd you would have to do a lot of modification to the undercarriage of the car

The only reason i would put a 6 in my car is to make it rwd. If its rwd, why not an 8? They got some tiny-ass 8s these days too. Find me a Caddy with the 32v Northstar or something.

Most V6 cars are FWD not many RWD out there today.

well, i'd say your best bet is one out of an early legend since they were built off a similar (enlarged) accord frame.

swapping bigger engines into crx/civic chassis is not all bad. I guy I know from the Honda boards has a h22 crx. that this kicks ass and there is still room enough up for a turbo.

I still think the 1.8 liter Mazda V-6 would fit. Maybe even the 3.4 liter yahama V-8 that went in Ford Tarus SHO. 235hp and 220 lb-ft

thats what I was talking about. the MX-3 came with 2 different engines. The base model came with a 1.6L I-4. The 1.8L v-6 was optional. I remember when it was built it was the smallest V-6 in a production automobile.

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU EVER PUT A 1.8l MAZDA V6 INTO A AN ACCORD? The sho yamaha built v6 i understand its got hella hp and tq but youd be way behind that with a mazda v6... with a turbo kit at 6psi youd be faster than the mazda

if im not mistaken, that V8 baby is a small displacement, more like a 3L V8. im not sure but they might be using it in the F1 cars, or atleast the low end ones, i guess the higher ones use the V10.
