Okay guys I was thinking That cuting the valve cover would look nice. what i mean is cut the part were the cam gear is so u can see the cam gear moving. I liked it on my friends LS Integra and thought i might look good on are cars. Does anyone have pics of this at all? I tryed searching and had no look. What u all think? thanks

If I had a band saw I would do it to an A20A3 valve cover... I'm not sure what would happen if you did it to a A20A1 or the earilier accord valve covers that weren't the solid aluminum.

I think it would look good, I was planning on doing it when I got a decent cam.

Make sure you do a good job with it. Otherwise it'll look like a hack job and be shitty.

No kidding steve, thanx for that advice. If you don't do a good job it will be shitty. For real? :kekeke:

This coming from someone who started painting there valve cover at twilight and then realized he had to put coats on every 10min or wait 24hours. Painting in the dark sounds like a good idea to me :thumbdown

BTW it's not the valve cover that gets cut, it's the timing belt cover!

Seeing lightbulbs post just made me remember that the a20 valve cover doesn't go over the cam gear and down over the side. The B-series covers do. To get that effect, you can just remove the upper timing belt cover.

why don't you just remove the plastic cover you don't have to cut the valve cover.
plus i don't see why you want that. if the dirt or anything gets between the timing belt and gears it will wear out the belt a hole lot faster.

Because it would look cool!... Don't you know that looking cool overides all reasons to not do something.

:stupid:

yeah Well its was something i had in mind but well see what happens. I mean i got actess to all tools and my friend just did his on his B series. Since the A20 valve cover only gots a little lip of it to cut he said the same just take off your cam gear cover. but then i have to take off the valve cover which i dont wanna go thew all that crap just to show a cam gear moving.

Well hope you don't drive on gravel roads or something where a rock or some foreign object could get lodged between the belt and gear and break it. And if you really want to show off your cam gear why not make a plexi-glass cam gear cover instead of the black plastic one
