rear deck speaker openings

I want to do away with the stock speaker holders and mount my 6x9's on the deck. I think it will look a lot cleaner, however, the holes in the deck are for 6 1/2" speakers. Is there an easy way to do this without cutting the rear deck all to hell?

Try to find speaker pods from an Accord with 6x9 rears. They will bolt down into your stock holes and look well... stock. I have tan 6x9 pods in the SEi I am parting out... let me know if you are interested, or just pick some up in a yard if you want a different color.

This is all assuming that you have a coupe or sedan, of course. If you have a hatchback I don't really know how to solve your problem. Your info shows a 1989 LXi; I though all Lxi's came with 6x9's... :dunno:

Mine did, I just don't want to use the pods. Two reasons, they look like crap, and I can't mount my grills on them, and I don't have the stock ones.
