Hey guys, its been awhile since i posted...but My accords tranny is gone, it wont go in Reverse or d4.....bad news, on the good side, Some one gave a me 87 2dr 5speed accord :-).....just didnt want it anymore....so im gonna take my rebuilt engine and through it in the 2dr, and have a 5sp....and my rims and shit are coming too.....wooo hooo

neat! i love coupes, or is it a hatch? wat year is your accord? if it's under 87 i think it's illegal to have your motor in the new one.

Coupes weren't available in 87. They first came out as 88 models. Good luck with that "swap."

naw its a 88 Coupe , i seen it today......the rear wheel is locked up....but i can fix it.....and i wouldnt really give a shit if it was illegal...i never do anything legal....hahaha......later guys

Just out of curiosity why would it be illegal? ive never heard of this particular law.

Emissions rules, you probably just don't have them where you live like me. Supposedly you cannot put an older motor into a newer car. A newer motor into an older car is fine however.

well in CA you can't swap with any motor that's older than your car, even rebuilt ones. i don't know why. this guy i know has a 96 crappy dx civic and he swaped it with a 95ls vtec, but had to swap it back out and sell it cuz it wouldn't approve with the dmv. i don't know why exactly but that's just CA i think in other states too.

sounds like your auto has blown selector gears... the rest of the tranny should be ok

my auto has taken a crap too, swap to the coupe they are sexier than the sedans anyway... and it was free!!!
