Are blue headlights or HID style still cool? Everything from nice $30,000 cars to shitty geo metros and 80's model escorts have aftermarket blue lights. Is this trend over or just starting?

The HID headlights and the blue bulb headlights that people get are badass no matter what people say. They look so damn tight at night and also help you see a shitload better. I do agree though, that the escorts and shit need to stop put those in there. People can be pretty :gay: sometimes with those bulbs. The headlights on the right car will make it look so good and stand out. Here in KC not a shitload of people have them. Also, I read somewhere that within the next 5 years or so almost every car on the market will have the HID's in them no matter what car it is b/c they have been proven to be safer and help see at night.

whenever I see a car coming from a distance with blue halogens I expect to see a tight car, most looks stock tho lol. I think they are nice.

HID lights are "blue" for a reason. The reaction of the electricity and the gas inside the lights produces that color. The capsules that produce the light do not have filaments. There are no "high" or "low" beams. They produce all that output with only about 35 watts.

I have mixed feelings on the "HID Look" bulbs. Real HID lights are kind of violet-blue, whereas a lot of HID look bulbs are a lighter shade. Some of the HID look lights look good, others look downright tacky. For our cars if you get bulbs that have at least some xenon gas (not just blue tinted glass) the color looks pretty good. Also, the aftermarket H4 housings have decent reflector/lens designs which helps the lights look good when they are on. If you just take a blue bulb and put it in any old car that uses bulbs you sometimes get a result that looks pretty stupid.

One thing I don't understand is how companies can produce them legally, I know in my state it is illegal to have blue lights on the front of your car. I see plenty of people with the blue headlights tho, doesn't really make sense. Are the blue headlights considered illegal, cuz I'll be damned if I am gonna spend that much on bulbs just to have the cops tell me I can't have them.

I mean tons of cars have them, but there still cool. I had them in my accord a few years back, I now have yellow. In my TL I have bluish lights. There always cool.

I have a set of 100/130 watt blue bulbs and the light up real good and i like them. To me, they are worth the upgrade.

Anyone know a good company to get some from? I want Xenon bulbs with a VERY distinct blue in them. I used to have some back in the day but one blew so I got these "hyper white" ones. They're bright white, but no blue. I want a bright light with very definate blue in them... but not blue lights.

Blue Headlights will always be cool cause stock lights are not that pretty but I guess it doesn't matter cause the lights are hidden when they arn't in use. If blue helps night driving as much as people say they maybe everyone should have them

I think HID is the way to go. Not those "blue " lights.

Yah like said before you expect to see a tight car with those.

My side Markers Match my HID headlights.

I've driven a few cars with the HID lights back in my valet days. Good lord, the difference is incredible. It's like having 6 of our headlights with a slightly blueish color. They look awesome coming toward you as well. I think an HID upgrade would be an excellent upgrade for our cars. Does anyone make them?

I had a set of EuroLite hyperwhites in my 5th gen accord for 2 years and when I sold the car they were still going.

I'm gonna test drive a 88 LXi hatch tomorrow and I've seen these Diamond cut headlights on EBAY for around 50 bucks...

Do the housing fit perfectly in the spot where the factory housings go or no?

Anyone on here have these on their car and are they any good?

They're H4 so when you think about it... any H4 bulb should work correct?

They have an HID kit that replaces H4 bulbs. Not cheap, though and without the reflectors that are custom designed for a particular HID system (you just use retrofit headlight housings) it might not be as good as a factory HID system found on newer cars.

Bottom line: Blue, xenon, plasma, etc. bulbs ARE NOT HID headlights. Some are good, som actually produce less useful light than a plain clear bulb. Whatever works for you is good, in other words.

I'd like to do the HID for mine, but I need the $ for more important things, so the H4's will do for now. i think they look pretty good..........here's a pic of them (3rd from the left)
