I dont see why people go nuts for JDM stuff like that. I think for the money id rather buy the whole xenon kit which looks similar anyway. But i guess for his sake he will have something very original but at a price.

well I paid $600 for it after all I did some negotiating...he has no more stuff this was the only thing he had....I am working a deal with him right now on more stuff but he is no longer carrying cosmetic parts...only motors and front clips, but from the way things are looking the its most likley no

and yes i know a xenon body kit is just as much but its the fact that its prob the only one that exist thats made me buy it,hell I am terrified to put it on the car!

Dude!!! Make a mold of it. I'm sure you can find someone who will make fiberglass or carbon fiber reproductions. Have a chat with the guys who make the carbon fiber hoods, I'm sure there can be some sort of group buy on this.

05-18-2004, 06:20 PM
hmm..... its not like a major kit, this is the first time i've ever seen one made for an accord and why not share the wealth? heck, you could prob make some money out of it.

Busted_Blue
05-18-2004, 06:39 PM
if he were to make a mold, i would think he would only make copies for himself and put the replicas on his car..so if he went over a large bump...whack.

Vinny
05-18-2004, 07:23 PM
I know exacly what he means when he says he's afraid to put it on his car. Some dumb bitch backed into me at the grocery store 2 days ago. If I had the erubini cover on that thing would have been TOAST. Sucks ya can't have anything nice without having to worry about some moron destroying it for you

Hash_man_Se_i
05-18-2004, 10:47 PM
I know for sure that if he made a mold and made replicas I would buy one... definately looks sweet, but having the genuine Mugen bumper is even better.

I have contacted some Mugen suppliers and am waiting to hear back from them.

lightbulblxi
05-19-2004, 12:05 AM
honestly, if he made copies, it would be a waste of money to buy a copy, it looks almost exactly like the stock bumper, but with the foglight holes filled in, so y pay for a new bumper, him on the other hand, has a real mugen one, who cares what it looks like, ITS MUGEN :D

thegreatdane
05-19-2004, 06:41 AM
How did you find out that Mugen made those once?
Take good care of it, and make a mold of it. I dont care if you keep the copies to yourself, as long as it keeps existing.

shane_lxi
05-19-2004, 07:06 AM
that's crazy.... speechless

carotman
05-19-2004, 08:24 AM
A copy would be nice!

It's not like we have 1000 000 Accords with a bodykit anyway... how many done up 3rd gens do we see anyway?

It would be the perfect way to prolong the life of mugen parts.

However guys this kit is for the 86-87 bumper style... so it will do a makor diff on his car.

This foglight holes are also nicer than on our cars.

Plus a copy would make sure that he can get a replacement part if the original breaks (or just keep the original as a collector item)

od2681
05-19-2004, 08:28 AM
yeah it would be cool if we had copies but..most of us would be scared to put those on...with the car borrowing goin on in my family i dont trust anything nice on there....one scrape while parkin and 700 bucks gone....tony you should actually make a copy but for urself...and for me and craig....

wprocomp
05-19-2004, 08:49 AM
I thought about copies but I dont know if I would trust the person making it...what if it broke during the process? plus I would have to ship it agian to the company...good idea though,I will keep it in mind guys

how much would you pay for a replica?

od2681
05-19-2004, 08:53 AM
yeah thats what i thought too..like they break it in the process....
ill pay 50 bucks for it..lol
nah im broke and pls i dont do nicy exterior mods

It something happend, fiberglass can be repaired hehe

Ya, but it'd be better if it was Eurethane. Then it would have some flex to it incase he were to hit something with it. I have seen soooo many cracked bumpers around town because the people got fiberglass instead or eurethane, especially with the extreme changes in temperature that we get here.

Great find on the bumper I dunno if i'd spend that much $ on a bumper though.

shepherd79
05-19-2004, 03:25 PM
if you make replicas of that bumper cover i will pay $200-300 for a copy.

NXRacer
05-19-2004, 04:16 PM
Too bad its fiberglass. I'd be afraid to put a front clip that was that expensive on my car for all the reasons that were already listed.

I wonder if there are any companies that make JDM copies that would be interesting in reproducing that kit.

sorry for the misunderstanding.

and yes other parts do exist from mugen for the accord

What parts would that be?

Justin86
05-21-2004, 09:34 AM
I copy would be sweet, but it would be better if it was more custom it does look a lot like stock. Add a lip to it and some small changes or something. If you have seen this months Honda Tuning, I really like the lip on that yellow NSX. :D

from what I have found through tons of research mugen made-
electronic controll suspension coilover system
header for B20
front bumper
rear bumper
wheels specifc for the 3g at the time(1986)
MUGEN sidedraft setup for the B18
and rumor has it there were sideskirts and a spoiler too but I have found nothing on those

sorry to blow your buble, but every JDM/euro bumpers were 86-87. non of them had 88-89. 88-89 bumpers were only available at US and Canada. Anywhere else in the world you would find only 86-87 bumpers. just look at paul's aerodeck. it has 86-87 style bumper.
eather way, bumper will fit on 86-89 accord. it is just the bumper lights will have to be from 86-87 accord.

well its here now and I did my fitting today...it ONLY fits 88-89 accord bumpers, the 86-87 does not work, fitment is good but one side seems a BIT short, but thats not a problem, and it looks oh so nice with that new bumper and the clear lights :)

Damn, nice find... Accords, and most Honda's in general go for so much here. I saw an 89 Se-i just like mine, but with slightly lower miles go for something like $10,000 CDN, don't know what idiot bought that one, but he can come buy my car any day.
