i.c. did your engine sound funny before it blew? You wrecked it downshifting correct? Mine has a funny sound that sounds like a light knock at like 5500 but its silent at lower rpms even floored...

Valve adjustment....
Well yea but i can usually feel/hear it at idle if it needs a valve adjustment... i did it less than 7k miles ago but maybe i should do it again
we think its' something in the head.....
it knocks when you hit the gas or when you shut it off but other than that it's quiet

I've heard from a fellow member on here (Steve) that he switched oil filters and it got rid of that the annoying ticking sound that most hondas have. He switched to a purolator gold from autozone. I've adjusted my valves twice in the past year and I just got my 94 prelude and it does it to so it must be a honda thing, but Steve said he can't hear the ticking anymore.

I'm a pretty balanced driver, I take off about average speed and maybe once or twice a drive will lay into it, but not necessarily redline it. My SHO was redlined daily, it was just too much fun not too, the redline was 7k and I routinely bounced it off the rev limiter at 7300. The 3gee got redlined a fair amount when I had it, I just didn't think it was as much fun in a straight line as it was in a corner though so it saw more tire squealing action then anything.

ummm i never hit the red, only at 6200 around and drop to next gear. i'm kinda afraid to hit that red...and with gas prices now a days, i don't even hit 3g's

pushed it past redline a few times when my clutch was going out and i missed a gear when racing lol.
even when i push it i usually shift at 5500. after that the power loss just doens't make it worth it unless you're racing. 5500 once every few weeks, redline once every month maybe.
