my battery gave out yesterday. i'd had trouble with it for a while. during cold days it would get weak. i had noticed when i would start my car it woudlnt always turn as quick. i got a new one today from sears. i've noticed the starter turns quite easily and starts the car quicker. just a few seconds difference, but you can tell. i need to get a new battery tie down because the one i had on there didnt fit right anyway. i'll probley check the junk yard if go. they didnt have the battery in stock in the gold series, so i got the truck/suv battery. its supposed to have more cranking power. dont know if thats right, but i have a new one anyways.

i dunno if it has anything to do with a new battery, but the engine idles much smoother! that old battery must have had not juice left in it! today it started really well. ah shit, just remembered i forgot to get the battery tie down. i went to the junk yard with my friend to look at the axles he's buying. guess if we go again i'll get it.

When you get a new battery there is not as much load on the alt and is therefore easier for the engine to rotate. This may be why your idle is smoother.

yeah, thats possible. i know i've got my idle smoothed out good since the timing was set correctly, vacuum lines were all fixed, and a few other small things. its the small things that make the nice differences. ah, this evening when i started for the 1st time today, it turned over so nicely.
