pedal rattle?

When i rev higher than 5 thou the spring on my gas pedal rattles very loud and i can feel a vibration thruogh the pedal?

Maybe the engine is out of balance causing vibration. Is all the engine mounts tightened according to specs.?

Try WD40. If that doesn't work, duct tape your engine. :)

Its really bad actually! i reckon u could hear the rattle outside. the engine (b20) revs fine standing. all the engine mounts cool.

Is the pedal the ONLY thing that shakes?

yes! sounds like the spring, i've jst done a B20a swap and converted to manual, obviously changed the pedal box and it sounds like it needs rubber between the firewall and pedal box chasis!! to soak up the vibration! Glad someone was listening, was begining to wonder what this forum was for!

There's not supposed to be any rubber between the pedal assembly and the firewall. I really cant think of anything else than the engine being out of balance thus creating vibrations (not necessarily large and visible ones). Did you center the clutch with the alignment tool when installing it?

the engine and box where already 2getha when i got them, i never seperated them b4 i installed them. ..I guess it could be one of many things that could be causing this then, if its a balance prob!
Although, i'm rebuilding another engine at the moment!

Yes it could be a bunch a things. Did you tighten the engine mounts according to specs?

yea! today i noticed the pedal spring is making a little noise as i slowly push the gas (with the engine off) dont know if it relevant or not! will have a good look at it tmoz havent had chance to look at tit latley :sad2:

The small noise with the engine off shouldnt make a difference.
