This valve is between gas tank and charcoal canister (according with pic from Haynes) and is supposed to vent the fuel vapors in the tank. I unplugged the small red hose on top of canister (which goes into the firewall to the tank) and tested with vacuum to the tank side. This two ways valve is supposed to vent the tank at 0.2 to 0.6 inHg, mine is shut. I feel my tank is ready to explode under vapor pressure, the fuel pressure at carb is inconsistent and more problems at the carb etc.. :eek:
I traced the lines to the tank and seems the valve might be on top of the tank (not sure). There are two access holes in the trunk: one for fuel pump and the other for an electrical connector (sending unit ?), but I haven't seen the damn valve.
Has anybody replaced one ? Need some input on howto please!
