carpet paint/dye

i was looking around JCWhitney.com and found some carpet paint or dye or whatever it was
i was wondering if anyone has tried this because its really expensive ($12 for a 6oz can!) and i dont want to waste that much money on something thats gunna look crappy
and im pretty low on cash right now

and i was kind of curious how many cans i would need
or maybe if there are cheaper alternatives?

You'd need alot of cans, but i've seen the work it does and it would be worth the money.

I went cheap for mine, I bought some I think it is Dupli-color trim and carpet paint, but it is only in black and grey, I bought the black and it turned out really well, I painted the headliner, some tim, doors and the floor carpet, the trim looks really good so does the headliner and floor carpert the only thing with it is that it makes the carpet a little stiff for awhile, but it goes back to feeling somewhat normal, and so far it's been about 5 months and the paint hasn't rubbed off from water or people rubbing it it.

Sounds good to me. I want to do Black interrior on my dx. Does it paint vynal, Like the dash and door trim and armrest and such?
