Restyled Tails

ok, so i took the pix tonight and i couldnt do much to get them not to suck. if i used the flash it came out worse. all you could see is white. anyway, i had planned on doing some really nice tails with round style lenses. but that is going to be difficult and take a while. so for the time being, i've done a little something else. doesnt look bad, people were wondering what the hell i did to get them. hehe. anyway, heres some night pix. i'll get some better day pix tomorrow. so here's an idea of what they look like anyway.

did you just paint the lenses and leave those round spots unpainted? Looks good at night ...

i used some vinal and cut it out. i definately looks different, i think its a good change. that is the look i was going for, but all the lights round including the turn signal. i made them so they are still legal.

i cant see shit! get a tripod or something sturdy (and steady) to get pictures more clear without flash. The hand or knee is not steady enough to take nightshots.

i think u should paint the turn signal red, and hit it with night shades, but don't completely black it out, just make a them a deeper red, that would look sweet, but good job on the work anyway, looks like your attention to detail is superior

not as tight as my tails... i had an extra set and no one wanted them, so i made em REAL nice... pics are coming as soon as DX2 is fully done

i suppose i did pay attention to detail. i measured circle templates out to be jus right for the red lense's size. made the templates drawn with a compass so they were perfectly round. i measured out how far away to space them and everything. i pretty much did it on a piece of paper to act as a stencil. worked well. i did think of doing other designes. i thought of maybe a slim line to run the length of the red lense, also the squares idea was in there, i thought maybe old school looking slanted lines like nissan pulsars had, also vertical lines. i might do the night shades on the orange part. it would look ok, the blinker shines very bright already so it wouldnt be a problem. or i may do the slim line that would run the length of the orange lense, but also blacking out any orange on the back up light. i might not do anything to the orange part. it does look really cool at night. in the day, its ok looking. either way it looks pretty good, not common so thats good.

What about the top lights? Are you gonna do those? Looks good. I wonder what they would look like if you cleared them and kept the red circles mmmmmmmmmmmmm just an idea.

i've done clear tails before. that could look really cool. these are somewhat temporary until i can get my Supra style tails done. those are probley going to be a long term project because i'm interested in getting other stuff done.

They look like the older mercury cougar lenses kinda.
