I just cleaned the whole car inside out, waxed it, and put the JDM corners in to see what it looks like. In the next few weeks i will be pulling the engine for the turbo project so i wanted to clean her up and enjoy her before i rip her all apart. I will also be putting the AEM big brake kit back on along with my rear disc setup along with my exhaust.

And the Quaife LSD assembled and being installed in the B20A transmission!

Then after all this is done with i will be having the car painted and new wheels will be coming. I can say i have made a lot of progress with the engine and its near done then I can enjoy it for a bit before its all painted and done. After all that is done I won't be doing much other than interior work and maybe a full roll cage.

RobT5580

Nitto NT-555's! Not a bad tire but i was not happy with the wear so i may try a new brand this time around.

The car is not nearly as clean as when i got it but it will get some special attention to the exterior as soon as i finish up the B20. Iv worked hard to get where i am even though it still doesnt show it will look nice once the paint is done. You guys can see what iv done in the VBGarage and hopefully many of you guys follow through and persue your goals for your cars. Its taken me a while to get here so don't give up and i would have way back unless i fell into Justin's car. His car kept hope in my head and ever since i made slow progress but im almost there.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Damn Rob that is look sweet! Maybe we can meet up this week and get a little photoshoot with the cars

RobT5580
06-14-2004, 05:23 AM
Yeah the MX-6 was a free gift from my aunt because she bought the car new and rear ended someone around 1995. For some reason she thought it was worse than it is so they never fixed it even though she bought a front clip. So im fixing it and might give it to my girl or keep it for myself if she dont want it. Its a decent car and cant go wrong for free so it might to go Maaco just to clean it up a bit.

Thanks for the comments and I cant wait to finish the exterior as i was not big on the red at all. Fortunatly in the sun the metalic brightens it up a lot and looks semi-decent.

The car looks good. You gonna have that B20 beast in for the meet?

Very clean! Why are you painting it though? For some reason, your car is the only one I've seen on here that I absoluetly love the look of when painted Red(I don't like the color red).

Very nice clean car. I like the rims alot.

As far as the July meet its going to be a tough one because the machine shop is a bit behind. Im going to try my best to have it done but im not going to half ass it for the meet just to have it done. If its not done we will have to meet up in august and have another meet before i go back to school. Plus even if i can finish it i doubt it will be broken it anyway but we will see how things go.

As for the red i really didnt care much for it but i kinda wanna do something different since im getting the xenon kit also. I have wanted championship white for a long time but i dont want another white accord with the kit on it. So im going to see if the body shop can match this paint or maybe do it a tad lighter since this is not the factory color to begin with. And im painting it because there are a lot of stone chips on the hood and some dings around the car plus with the xenon kit and spoiler i really need to do the whole car for it to match anyway.

Si Blue and Super Sonic blue were considered but i think i might stick with some shade of red. I have not decided yet but i have a nice photoshop of what it should look like and im happy with it but i will decide later. I was going back and forth for a few months so i gave up and will see how much the body shop quotes first then go from there.

And the LSD=$$$$$ but its a needed for what im doing and i had the money at the time and quaife was nice enought to match it up for me. Also am not sure if the ITR is the same and the CTR one is very hard to find and the price would be higher than the ITR one so i went brand new.

looks awsome rob, once the motors in I am sure it will be a true beast...personally try to leave it the same color...painting the firewall, doorjambs and other things can be a real pain in the ass

Lookin good as always Rob. I think you should leave it the current color. There aren't too many cars around here with that color thats in good shape.

Looking forward to the finished product.

Paint wise, I would suggest a 2-tone. a frost white or a cream with a flake on bottom with a maroon top half with a metalic flake.

Damn Rob that is really clean I didnt realize it was like that. Better not scratch the paint while working on it man.

RobT5580
06-14-2004, 06:53 PM
Sorry to tell you guys i do have some scratches and stuff but its getting painted for sure. The car was mint when i bought it and the interior is still near flawless since i clean it all the time. Im gonna have my bodyshop show me some samples first but i think im gonna do the same maybe slightly lighter.

Im still speechless for the amount of money i put into this project but better now than later. You guys have no idea how much money i have spent and i still have not seen the full figure even myself. But as i said before when im done there isnt really anything i would upgrade which is odd since there is usually better stuff out there. I used the best stuff possible so the rest of my money will go to the exterior then i can really begin to enjoy the car.

man the car looks so good now man. Luxury style. perfect rims, color, and drop. I wish you wouldn't change it up.
From the look of it now, it doesn't look that aggressive as to where someone would think it was turbo'd. <sleeper>
but good luck with the project.

06-15-2004, 01:30 PM
jigga, i wont change it to much im thinking a xenon kit and 90-93 accord spoiler and some fresh paint. Also for wheels im leaning on getting the real Racing Hart C2's in the 3 piece. They look similar just a real chrome lip and much much better quality. So over all i dont thing it will change a lot just cleaner and with the kit and spoiler and some minor details like shaved antenna, rear door handles, thats about it i think.

Rob, keep it the same color....what is it? Navajo Metallic Red like mine?

RobT5580
06-15-2004, 04:58 PM
Someone had it re-painted and it came out a bit lighter than the factory Navajo metalic red. My other coupe is that color and its much darker. These pictures were taken on a cloudy day so its shows up dark almost like the factory color. But in sunlight the car is much lighter and it has a lot more metalic than my other car.

Rob, I think an 90-93 teg spoiler will flow much better; just like Steve's and the one I had on my Sei. Just my opinion.

I had the accord one on my first accord and i think it fits better than the teg one.

damn rob gimme that engine! lol j/k. i wonder how that mike lee guy is doing? his B20A turbo setup was awesome too. i wonder if he got that thing running. check his site: TURBO B20A ACCORD (http://www.geocities.com/mikelee000/shop4.htm)

Well the bottom end is from Mike Lee's but i decided to change out the shot peened rods for some good ones. He parted the engine out when my first attempt failed due to customs. YK86 bought the head and stuff and he sat on the bottom end for awhile so i paid YK86 to drop it off at a shop to ship it to me. As for Mike Lee its been a long time since i spoke to him but he did check in from time to time. It took a long time to clear customs but it worked out for the better since i spent the extra on the engine. The stress is coming with the final parts orders in preparation for the swap. So it should be up and running sometime this july if things go well. All i can say is im pleased with all the stuff i got so far. The only part i couldnt get that i wanted was a steel 3 layer head gasket from cometic.

I will keep you guys posted on the swap and dyno runs once its broken in. Then i can finally sit back and relax a bit. The rest of the stuff is minor and mostly cosmetic.
