something im working on in anticipation of the radio i won (Avic-N1)

im going to use the vcr tape engaging thingy to have to radio go in and up into the dash
if anyone has any input ill be glad for the assistance

Holy crap that thing in nice and you got it for free, those are not cheap. So what up with the VCR engager?????? That DVD is to be mounted in the dash and the screen will flip out. Sounds like you want to have it under the 12V hookup so the entire unit can swing out to be viewed?

You're going to have to convert your 12VDC to whatever voltage (AC I think) the motor on the VCR assembly uses. Sounds cool though!

im going to try to use a cd-rom motor to drive the gears that way it is already
dc right now im in the process of fashoning a bracket to hold the test radio
in place i should have a short movie of it working outside the car by week end

The VCR will be dc inside for sure. Most electronic devices are DC.

ok now I got a better pic of what you want to do. Make the DVD sleeper. Make is look like a regular radio/CD player, then BAM it folds down and out comes the DVD. Pretty good idea, hope you have enough room to make this work in the dash.
