I am in the works of making an infinite baffle sub system, but doing all of this myself while doing it a little at a time so I can do it right. I already got my MDF wall up and did some sealing of the small and med size holes, just gotta wait until later when I get a FULL DAY OFF AND TAKE THE SUB BOX OUT AND PLACE A CARDBOARD PIECE UNDER THE BIG HOLES, BRACE IT UP SOMEHOW (oops, just noticed the caps, too lazy to retype it) to keep it in place. and foam it from the top so I can form it. im gonna cover up the speakers that are in the rear deck to prevent the foam from getting inside the grill. once that is done, im gonna try and make a cover around the rear part of it, and make a seal around the backsides of the basic speakers to prevent the pressure of the subs from blowing them out the top. the foam is strong enough to hold most of the pressure now, but I wont beable to know until after I cover up the top and seal it off. I know where most of the air is still coming out since the biggest opening is covered, so I gotta go back in there with another can and fill them up. gotta do my driver side again though cause that side fell in instead of stayin up like I thought it would. but when this is done, it may look hella tight, but still tryin to figure out how I am gonna have this set up so it wont show the speakers in the wall. thinkin of takin some speaker cloth and just forming it around the speaker holes and just go out from there.

Here is a diagram of what it will somewhat look like:

Of course the brown is the MDF board, the back rear one is gonna have a plexiglass-like grill inside it so it can prevent the stuff in the trunk from hitting the speakers and the amp.

the red part is the ring/spacer to lift the spealer away from the wall itself, so when the woffer goes the full excursion, it wont hit on the wall there.

Obviously the green is the speakers.

And the blue is where the amp is gonna sit from what I am planning, but may be somewhere else in the trunk, may do a custom slide-out board that will hold the amp so I can adjust it, instead of taking the backside/grill off all the time just to adjust the amp for competitions. I may do it right under the rear deck under the trunk lid slightly.

niiiiice i like how you used paint for your diagram. yea i wouldnt put the amp in the box with the subs because it wouldent be fun to get to it to adjust it. idk about putting it on the trunk lid, it would feel wierd when closing the trunk because it would be heavy. put it on the trunk floor ot on the back of the back seat. good luck with it.....

i don't think it would be a great idea to have the amp that close to the driver... IMO, i would want as much airflow around both of those parts as i could get...

by the way.. some of the BEST sounding, and LOUDEST systems i've heard were infinite baffle systems... but technically, in a car, it's boxed... just a really big box... the only TRUE IB systems i've ever heard were in houses... they can be stuck in ceilings, floors, or closets... the two that i've heard had them mounted either in the floor, or in the ceiling...

BTW, what subs are you using?

Not sure yet, might beable to fit 3 8's mabey 4 8's, mabey 2 or 3 10's, 2 12's or 15's, ain't doin 18's cause I may only have just one of those, I want to have multiple. but I gotta find the surface area on the front side first so I can get an idea of how many can fit into the wall there. Once I figure out how many can fit, I can think of what brand and type I wanna put in there.

I know most of you are already thinkin, where are the pics, well I just gotten batteries for my camera, so I am gonna take some pics now to show it in the works.

i'd got with either 2 - 12"s or 3 - 10"s. Not 4 - 8"s. But it's seems like an interesting project. Have fun with it.
