whats wrong with DVC? and a sub cant be too powerful.. the amplifier supplies the power... you cna run a 1500 watt sub off a 300 watt amp if you wanted.... and just get the right voice coil configuration to suit your amp... i gather your looking for a final 4 ohm mono load.. get a dual 2 ohm and run it

ya..I need a 4ohm mono final....How can I do that with Dual 2 ohms? Hummmm...If Im thinking right...The sub wont be gitting much power pr. coil?.!?.!?

with dual 2 ohm coils hooked in series, you get a final 4 ohm load... it doesnt matter how many watts each coil is getting or how many watts the sub can handle...

heres a diagram for a final 4 ohm load with dual 2 ohm VC's

You cant beat Cerwin Vega Subs, especially their V-max and V-mag lines(i have V-Mag comps up front). The HED line is fine, its their bottom line, but its still Cerwin Vega...good stuff.

I have the HED10SVC in a smaller box(.86 cu ft), with a not so powerful amp(only 150 going into the sub), and for that low of power it sounds pretty good. Getting good power(300 or so), you will have a nice sound. With that low of power, for me, its all about box position. I can put it in the very back of the trunk facing out and it sounds good(REALLLY good with the back seat down), but if i stick it towards the front(rear of car), it is less.

It's all relative. It's completely dependant on what you're used to as to what pounds or not, but he did mention SQ so Adiobahn is out. I would have to second any of Ed's drivers. I have hit a 150.9 db on an audio control mic with my e15a while pulling a first place in 2 competitions for SQ in my 3g, not to mention Ben (the founder of ED) and co. are some of the coolest people ever in the car audio world and have some of the best warrenties and service.

i'll agree with you on that one....I have an oldschool 1st gen punch 15" from either the early 90's or late 80's or something that I used for years in my room until I put it in my car and blew the ring around the top :thumbdown it was a good sub but couldnt handle a newer amps power :)

well, yuo can always put a new surround on it, hehe... a LOT of good high-dollar subs get tossed due to bad surrounds and the lack of know-how to repair them

im gonna say Image Dynamics IDQ... Other good choices you picked were the Crystal Mobilesound and the Xtant and alumapro. Other than that you should look at Adire audio brahma, Kicker Comp VR, and JL Audio
