A new, old problem with my Accord 87 (Carb, 200K, AT)
it's either related to temperature, either to atmospheric pressure(?)
if it's not a hot day after the engine starts it does NOT have a fast idle speed, which should be around 2500rpm for a while (until it reaches normal engine temperature).
It goes to the fast idle speed in like 10 to 12 minutes while driving.
Any ideea why?
Also which are the thermovalve A and thermovalve B?
Thx.

huh, let me see if i got this right.
okay on a cool day when you start the engine it does'nt have it but while driving it then start's????
hmmm.
let's see the thing's that set the fast idle . . . . .
well when i had mine's the throttle control was adjusted the right way.
having it set like that reset's the fast idle, and fast idle unloader.
plus the choke.

plus 10-12 mins of fast idle you have to tap the gas in order for you to get it
to idle normal right???
if so it's those thermovalve's.
thermovalve a is the blu looking one with to port sticking out, on the back of the intake manafold.
thermovavle b has the port's and i belive is blu too.
if i was you i would cancel out those.
it's better without them.
cause after 5mins the engine is fine(in cold weather) . . .. . .

I have a pic of the diagram that is sticked inside the hood, but I am not allowed attachments. I know that there is a thermowax valve under the carg on the intake manifold, and there are 2 other things which might be thermovalve A and B.
Anyway how exactly would be the way to cancel them?
Thanks

well the one behind the carb is the T:A the one on the driver side of the carb is T:B and the one by the thermo housing is T:C.

okay to over ride these inconvice thingy's is take a vacuum line that has vacuum at it all time's then take like a splitter or something cause your gonna need to cover both vac port's of the fast idle unloader.

now when you start your car when it's cold it's gonna rev for about 2-5seconds then shuut off.
reason why cause the carb is still cold and the fiu kick it down.
so when you start it back up have your foot on the gas and keep the idle leveled at 1,200-1,500 rpm's, it'll warm up quicker.
