How many rpm's?

When I run in D4 in my auto, I run bout 2950rpm-3050rpm. But my transmission's slipping a little big, and about to be replaced, so those numbers might be a tad bit high.

On a level ground with the torque convertor locked up I'd say about 2,000 - 2.500, problem is I rarely cruize in my car on the highway and I never use the cars natural shift points, so I really don't know.

On a side note I would love to change 4th gear... it seems after I shift from 3rd going 125 to 4th gear not much power goes thru the trans... so my guess is something is slipping or the gear ratio in 4th is too close to 3rd.

the 4th gear on auto tranny is so low, you can actually loose the speed if you get some forward wind.

Yeah, I just did a run today. I run about 2300rpm at 60mph. I was off a bit. I wonder what the guy was running in RPM's.

well when i first got the lx it was 2,500 w/ tc locked in 4th.
with the mods ive done it was down to 2,200 or a lil less than that.
and man at higer speed's the car can handle . . . . . . . (sigh's)

i havent done any upgrades to my car and at 60m/h the car does 2700 RPMs (automatic transmission) so I think its not that bad. Is it? :dunno:

yep same here 2700-3000 in 4th doing 60.but i think there somthin else going on in my tranny it dosent slip but it jerks down into third hard if i slow down then exelerate.4th gear pretty much sucks all my power is in third second pulls good but changes up at 4000 rpms and never any higher i want a lot more rpm range in second for a better low end tourqe. i tried adjusting the tv cable not much difference. could it need to have more slack in it?

whoa scratch that after my new prelude dizzy my rpms are way better now i can take first to 5000 no prob 2nd up to 5500 and third hits 6000 finally i figured out where a lot of the slugishness came from my low end has been revived from the dead.but it still has a dive on the take off.hopefully exaust and an upgraded fuel pump will solve it. soon i mght even be able to beat a civic. lol.
