I read about this in a hot rod mag a few months ago, about a Y pipe with a valve in it, cable controlled. Basicaly you can go from a legal exhaust to run straight pipe from your seat. I look online for it but couldn't find it?????

i believe you're talking about something like this:

this one is electronic. The only reason you'd want one is for a turbo application. right now i only have a picture, but im trying to dig up some more info for ya.

It's called and exhaust cut out or bypass

there was something like that for the 4th gen but it was supposed to in theory, increase velocity by restricting the exhaust gasses after the header collector, but it also disrupts the flow... so I dunno how much good it will do.

Yea that is what I was looking but maybe for the cheaper version, that thing looks nice and expensive. I'm going to put this close the the gas tank and run a side pipe in front and the rear tire. I like how my car is quiet now but some times I wish I could run straight pipe like I use to to scare off all the Civics. :D

EXHAUST SYSTEM>>TEST PIPES>>EXHAUST CONTROL VALVE

"APEX'i 3" butterfly exhaust control valve. Cable control with locking handle button to control the butterfly door. Can be used by welding to any 3" test pipe, easily done at local muffler shop."

The link you gave was wronghttp://www.phase2motortrend.com
EXHAUST SYSTEM>>TEST PIPES>>EXHAUST CONTROL VALVE....means wrong??? Oh well, you got the jist. I have an SSL encrypted proxy which encrypts the URLs, so it is impossible for me to copy and past a link unless I turn off this feature. Typing the whole link is illogical. Sorry I could not help. :(

Yeah its hard to find on their site. search for part # MRG-5424. I think Jegs would probably have it also. You might want to check ebay too.
