Welllllllllllll, I don't know if they were on FIRE, but I've definately heated them up to the point that they wouldn't stop the car at all (from 80mph brake down to 20mph, 80 to 20, 90 to...."oh crap!!!")

i have on my ford truck with a F. disk brake swap. i was going like 100+ and had to come to stop FAST and i think there may have been a leak in my line because those where fried but i dont know when it started to burn or anything but when i got home i noticed my bake brakes were locking and no front brakes. thats when i saw the lines burn and everything around looked charcoled

It was funny. I was tearing ass in the Mountains and when I came to the end and stopped my brakes were smoking like a mofo. Imagine doing 60 downhill, throwing second and laying hard on the brake then doing a U turn at 25, fun fun fun. I also lost a good amount of rubber on the ordeal.

Fudgeit, I got new pads and rotors on a shelf.

Im gonna miss this car, *sigh*

Did it on a 4G, an RX-7, a Civic, and a Mustang

Didn't you kill a rotor with those mountain antics already?

mine didn't get on :burn: but they got so hot that the lug bolts started to pop off they broke because of the heat only one survived or should i say resisted i had to call a tow truck because i wasn't able to move the car no more (it was my fault cuz i had the rotors turned over the limit so they where too thin and they were heating pretty fast) :uh:

115 to a dead stop in less than a 1/8 mile... they didn't work for about a half hour.

I don't think they caught on fire...

with the lx, smoking yea, like one time i was in need of money before i went to work, going to get my check then going to cash it, then take care of the issue then went to work without being late.
but they was smoking like hell.

plus i heard quite a few time's that the 86/87 lxi and 86-89 dx/lx brake wears out easily and over heat easily due to the brake's and rotor's being small.

which i can say cause i never had this problem with the lxi.

we heated a brake rotor to red hot and it melted a hub cap when one of the brakes on our van wouldn't release all the way on the way to the beach.

I blew flames out the carb... my brakes are almost gone... I'd more likely just make sparks and melt the metal

No flames from my brakes (yet) but I had the oil deposits :burn: around my plugs on fire last week when my coolant hose slow leaked me dry and I overheated the poor thing to the side of the highway.... yeah... so now I'm cleaning the engine as well as doing a new headgasket... :uh:
