Remember that Prelude with the A18A that was running dual webbers + some NOS???

Well, it turns out that he blew the engine last time I saw him.

He now changed his engine for an A20A with a heavily modded head and JE 10:1 forged pistons.

That engine is a beauty. He had to change the intake manifold to fit the A20A head. He then took the time to installe 2 foggers per cyl

The car ran low 13's, far from his mighty 11.31. He didn't use the NOS tough.

The guy told me that this 11.31 has been acheived with 4 mikuni carbs (36mm) and he had been having little problems with the 40mm. The mikuni intake had much longer runners and that setup is completely experimental.

Enjoy the pictures, that thing is a must to see

Mikuni carbs? what are they?
looks like he has custom intake, unless some company made it and we don't know about it.

Where did he get the JE pistons? Anyone know of where to buy them? I would love to get a set of those.

Mikuni carbs are Japans version of the 40mm weber carbs.

Mikuni carbs are another brand of side draft carb. They are similar to the weber dcoe and use the same manifold. Some people say they are easier to work with. A 2 stage fogger system, I take it he has plans to break that 11s run. Those are some big ass air horns he's got on there, happen to know what brand they are? Looks nice, 3g accords and 2g ludes luck out with their bigger engine bays, he has longer runners, bigger horns, and still has more room then me between the brake booster and the #1 inlet.

well i did a research on mikuni carbs and this is what i found.
they don't make mikuni carbs anymore.
i also found they people adapt Keihin FCR carburators.
this is what i found so far. i know it is not for our engines but you got the idea http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/Carburators%20for%20the%204A-GE.htm#Some%20carburetor%20setups:
how hard would it be to find them in US?

Has anyone heard more news from this guy withe the dual DCOEs and NOS? I've heard many say, "If you want real performance, you'll have to convert your car to EFI." This guy's running low 13s using dual carbs and no nitrous (love to know what he runs with nitrous!). Sure, he's got some other heavyweight mods - modded head and pistons and who knows what else - but the point is, if you have an EFI car and are serious about performance, you'd consider that stuff anyway. Low 13s is seriously impressive! For everyone who has a carbed car and has been told you need to convert to EFI . . . well, this guy's proving that you can do a freaking lot with your carbed setup.

And for everyone who wants an engine swap so you can get DOHC - this guy has a single cam A20 engine.

I feel like sometimes we are too quick to believe the hype . . .
"You need EFI."
"You need DOHC."
"You need a B series engine."

. . . instead of being creative with what we have, taking our time to do research, and come up with some serious earth-shaking performance from the stock 3Gee engine.

I'm not trying to harsh on the DOHC and B series dreams that many have; it's your car and it should be how you like it. I'm just saying that the A20 has some proven potential.

Low 13s - that rocks!

Well, carbs got America through about 80 years of automobiles...they aren't complete crap. Hell, dragsters still use carbs.

he runs in the 13's... right..

The car is so stripped that you can't do anything else with it except drag race...

no passenger door
No interior... nada. nothing.
no gas tank (fuel cell instead)
No front lights.

With everything added to this car, he would run in the high 14's or low 15's...
