do any body know the price for a universal straight through muffler. 2/5 or 3' pipe from the exhust manifold to the muffler. maybe headers.

i got holes all over my exhust system so i want to change the whole thing. maybe not the headers too expensive. what is a cheap way to do my pipi over with some perfomance.

I would only go 2 1/4 if you are N/A.And well you only have one header. And you can go with DC or pacesetter

i have 2 1/4 from the manifold back, no cat, and a "cherry bomb" glass pack thats been washed, anything over that is overkill, you gotta have alittle back pressure, my system was done by my brother-in-law so it was at shop cost, i picked up some power, not much, i noticed the biggest gain when i installed the accel coil, platnium plugs and home-made CAI, all those working together i have seemed to have picked up 15hp, as elijah said, since the car isnt a turbo you dont need 2.5 or 3 inch, save your money go with a 2 1/4 inch from the cat back and a universal "import" muffler and forget the header for now and spend $60 on a accel super stock coil, parts to make the CAI, plugs, and wires but thats my opinion

As stated, 2.25" is best. However, you exhaust is limited by the smallest diameter of pipe you have. So if you have the stock exhaust manifold, flex pipe, and cat, you won't gain much. 5 hp if you're lucky. A header back exhaust system is an excellent way to gain some power. Just make sure you replace the stock cat with a high flow or if you live a state that doesn't have emissions, take it out all together.

my flex is a 2.25, and we have emissions here so near december i'll have to clamp the cat back in for the testing, then remove and weld a pipe back in

I'd say get an exhaust shop to do it, cause they use a decent metal that resists rusting. Aluminized I believe.

I have that. However, I don't have the muffler. I cut it off and used a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler and a Bosal tip. Make sure you strip the black paint off and re-paint it with high temperature paint though.
