Wow, that looks realy clean. Did you buy it from a little old lady who kept it in her barn or something? Very nice.

close, it was garaged all its life by the previous owner. i also did a whole bottle's worth of Nu Finish polish 3 months ago polishing it day by day till i finished the whole bottle. after that, weekly washes at home or at the car wash does wonders. the only flaw is the seatbelts not retracting so well that the doorjams have scratches and doorpanels have rips cus the previous owner always got the seatbelt latches caught in the door. i need to reupholster the panels or find ones in good condition and replace the weak seatbelt retractor assemblies.

Great looking car. I wish I had an SE-i. The seatbelt thing is common with coupes and hatchbacks. Mine does it every once in a while and others I've talked to have the same problem.

very clean. I love how you took the pic when in the morning. It makes it look more shinier. Lighting makes differences in a pictures.

I have the seatbelt problem too, and my power windows suck too. the drivers window pops off track ALL the time, and I can't figure out whats wrong with it. and the passenger window goes down about 4 inches, slows to a crawl for about another 4inches, then is goes down at about regular speed.

mmm, looks good man. that's a hot SE-i! damn it boy, you didnt even get a corner of the project 3gee in! lol. all though, you did say we wouldnt see any more pix of it till its finished didnt you. so, you gonna keep the SE-i stockish? that wouldnt be a bad idea, considering their rarity. did you try any leather conditioner on the leather yet?

yeah im gonna keep this car close to stock cus i like how comfortable it rides. just some minor suspension upgrades and i have to change the tranny mount cus i feel some heavy vibration when in gear at idle. i'll upgrade the shocks too cus it's a bit floaty for my taste. maybe lower it a bit about 1.25"-1.5" not too extreme. get some 17" multi spoke polished rims for it (like the racinghart C4's) with 45mm rubber for more cushioning. here's some knockoffs i found for a VW on eBay just to give you an idea:

i like guaynabo89's 205/45/17 setup:

i like the SEi as a daily driver cus it rides very smooth and the AC blows frikin cold (which means alot for an old 3gee in FL heat). for some reason this engine is alot smoother too. it purrs like a kitten and i don't hear the valves clicking or anything. the previous owner said he's been using synthetic oil in this car. maybe that's why. so i've been using castrol syntec ($5 a quart) in it to keep it running like new and at least an 89/93 octane gas. seems like a different car from my LXi. oh well, the LXi will get a swap in about a year. i guess coupes are made here in the US cus my vin number starts with a 1Hxxxxxxxxxxx and my LXi starts with JHxxxxxxxxxxx. another thing i wanna do is repaint the bumpers and hood due to rock chips and bugs and tint the windows gunmetal platinum tint.

anyways, the leather conditioner works great. i used that mink oil lotion stuff. conditioning your leather feels like rubbing lotion on a naked girl. lol j/k. smells good too. unless you got cracked and torn leather, then it's like rubbing lotion on an old lady. lmao.

i'd say if you do put bigger rims on, yeah go ahead and do the drop and replace some old suspension parts. always a good thing, make it ride better than now would be cool. bodywise, i think it looks great, no need for a body kit. color is great also. you lucked out.
