ok, well at my work, they had a florescent light that was defective that was to be sent back. i asked if i could have the light cover from it. it is crystal clear not foggy looking like the one i used before. also, the pattern on it is almost perfect squares. looks quite similar to the original orange bumper lights. like from the 86-87 sedan and 86-89 hb. take a look at the ones i had before and the ones now. i like the newest ones best. i'll try and get some pix of the ones i had before i made these new ones. they were similar, but were white clear, not crystal clear.

yeah, i made em myself. they didnt take too long to make. that would be because i've cut out plastic to make lenses and other stuff before. also the right tools help. gotta have a high speed cutting tool. i used this craftsman all in one rotory cutting tool. then i used my other hand held rotory tool to grind the excess plastic and shape them up. anyway, i got it just about right to where the patterns are up and down, not slanted. i'm going to see about making the eyelids on the pop ups and grille to match the clear corners i'm getting. i'll post pix of those too, but in a separate thread. looks a lot better in the day light, and even better when the blinkers are on.

dang man, good job. Also, good luck with the grill piece, all i did with mine was shave it and do a little filling and it was a bitch to do. get some pics when you finish.

i traced the right side piece that will go on the grille part. i didnt wanna get messy tonight because i was going out soon after i had started. i'll maybe get to making those new eyebrows. i'll have to see what will work best on the backing of the plastic as of paints. i may just wait till i get the clear corners to make sure the coloring matches. also i'm going to have to slightly make a curve into the plastic. i'll see on a scrap piece how it bends when heated. i will probley use one of my old broken eyebrow pieces as a template thing to bend the plastic to the correct shape. you might notice the slight bend in the eyebrows at the bottom of them.

i made the mesh grille myself. i bought a sheet of stuff they call "stucko mesh" from home depot. that's the stuff you tack up on a wall so you can plaster on stucko. anyway, basicly the same stuff as you'd find at the auto parts store usually made by APC. but i paid like $4 for this sheet that was about 6x4 feet. i painted it so it wouldnt turn all nasty.
