Im going to be getting an infinity 12 and a pioneer amp, and I'm too cheap to pay like 100 bucks for a box, I can build stuff fine, I'm jsut wondering if half inch MDF will work or if I should go upto 3/4 inch. the sub is 300rms(1200 peak) and the pionner amp im getting puts out 380 watts, bridged at 4ohms.

the thicker the better because it vibrates less and you get more sound out of the sub. The idea with the box is to seperate the soundwaves on the front of the speaker from the ones in the back (so they don't cancel each other out...). If you're spending the time to build it you might as well do it right. Have fun with it...
