I have the old steel wheel/hubcap combo on the 89 LXi and wanted to keep the wheels at 14 inches for now anyway as the tires are brand new Goodyears. What stock Honda alloys look good and is there a site or pics of them somewhere? Thanks in advance...

well my 86 had 15; saturn rim's and the tire's were 205/50r15.
you know the lx-i come's with 14 alloy's why do you have steelies's??

the steelies are actually 13s, but they have a lip that makes the face measure 14 inches across... the wheels are the same way, they are 14s, but the face measures 15in across the surface, i have measured both my steelies and my SEi rims and thats how it is.... as for 14in honda rims... Civic HX rims are pretty nice looking and are super lightweight (weighed less than my friends stock civic 13in steelies did)... but i believe they are 14 not 13 like the steelies actually are...

Unlike 86-89 DX and LX models the 88-89 LXi coupes came with 14" steel wheels. 13" wheels would not be big enough for the larger LXi front brakes.

whatever i dont really care... i knew about the brake size difference, but i wasnt paying attention to the specific model and year of his car i guess... myu suggestion still stands, HX rims!

I've never weighed one without the tire, but they're definitely pretty light. They are 13s though. I can feel a big difference in steering response between the 13s on the Prelude and the 14s on the accord. I'd say the extra inch is worth it. There are still lots of 14" Honda alloys around: 3rd generation prelude, 3rd generation accord, and any integra or civic wheel should fit.

I've got 14" six spoke rims off of an integra, picked em up at the wrecker for $125 CDN got them sandblasted for another $30/rim. They came out pretty good.

I am still determined to get a set of those 2nd gen lude wheels. I just think they look damn sweet for some oem wheels. I gave up on trying to get a set of GSR or Si or teg LS wheels though. I am officially tired of ricer kids that got a set and now they want to sell them for 4or 500. WTF? give me a break.

here's some pix of the 3rd gen prelude rims i have on my car. they are 14in alloys. they ride really nice, maybe because of the tires, i dunno.

as far as looks go, I dont see those as being any better than steelies. But tires probably have a good bit to do with how it rides...I just filled my tires with the proper air and oh my what a difference.

While they are not "Honda" wheels I have found two 14's that I like eqaul to my SEi's factory rims. First is the Konig Reign:

and the second is the TSW Sting:
