What lips are there for our cars? I have heard of Volvo and Integra lips. Also what mods do you have to do to them to make them fit? Help me out guys

There were stock lips for our cars, USDM and JDM, but I do believe they are pretty hard to get ahold of now. On the other hand just about any lip that is close to the contours of our car can be made to fit with some cutting(dremel) and some bending(heat gun). If you want to use a lip off of a car that is not as wide as ours you will need two lips and you must join them in the middle with epoxy or some other type of flexible glue.

pretty any lip will work if it's straight-ish and the same lenghth or longer than our bumpers. i say go to the junk yard and check em out. lips is an easy to make the car look lower and more agressive. lip at junk yard runs for bout 11 bucks. all custom work will require same thing. cutting, stappling, saudering, drilling, etc.

nice post 88!

i dont know, i am still wondering why ppl would change the lip without doing the rear bumper too? then again, i am just being stupid.

well, i dont think there is anything you can really do witht he back bumper. Dont we have a mini lip on the back already? maybe there can be another one that we could add onto that.

Does anyone know how much custom work is required for the 1G CRX lip? I think that one looks the best, just wondering if it's more work than any of the others.

I bit more then some, you have to use 2 of them to make it wide enought to go all the way across our front bumpers.

88accordhb
07-30-2004, 09:57 PM
hmmmm i dunno, mine fit pretty good. you gotta cut sections on the side, and staple with a flat piece of metal the ends to the main section, sauder over the staple so you cant see it. and do the drillin on the bumper.

http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/2/web/566000-566999/566138_61_full.jpg

that wierd ruff line on the side is where i connected the end piece to the main piece and melted extra plastic over it, i didn't sand it too well tho. hehe

AccordAddict

which lip requires the least amount of work? my bumper has some screws under it that could hold a lip easily, and i would use double sided tape for the ends, easy job for me.

Quick question, my friend is giving me his old 91 Accord lip, will it fit with minor modifcations or will it require extensive modifications?

88accordhb
08-11-2004, 11:26 AM

OK, sorry for taking sooooooooo long to get back to everyone. The Volvo lip is from (this is just a guess here) early to mid 90's Volvos. It's very common, as it's on many different models, but you don't really even notice it's on them b/c of how it's mounted. It's kind-of tucked up, and back on the front bumper. You really have to be looking for it to find it. That one, just as the CRX, and 626 requires two complete lips to make one to fit the 3G. You'll need to lengthen/shorten the sides, and lengthen the center. I'll try and put together a how-to in the next few weeks as to what I've needed to do to make the two lips fit. I'm going to try a few others as soon as I can get to the j/y to get more lips.
