The only real way to do it is by stiching. Cut the pieces individualy and lay them out on the panel making sure that the panel is all covered.
Stich them together and then glue the whole piece down.

i know that will work, but i've heard that steam helps...am i right? i've never tried it, but i did put the vinyl in the dryer for like 30 seconds, and it helped stretch it a bit, but nothing drastic.

Steam would help it stretch, or you can even microwave it SLIGHTLY or leave it out in the sun. But it really won't help you in that type of stretch that you need on that door.

heat gun... that's what i use when i stretch something like that...if it doesn't work, then i rip it off and try again until i get it... try starting from where the sagging is and working FROM there, instead of to there... again, use the heat gun to help stretch it out... also, i hope you're using contact cement and not some of that spray adhesive that doesn't really hold anything for too long... when i do my car, i'm using contact cement, and where i don't want it to touch yet, i'll stick wax paper in between the parts... works like a charm...

Heat will help but it wont pull out all of that slack. I did my rear panels before which obviously were the easiest ones and they came out good but it took a lot of pulling and steam to get it flat around bends. The front panels are just to curvey and im gonna give mine to a proffesional because i doubt the average person will be able to get them smooth without the tricks of the trade. But i give you credit for doing it the right way and pulling off all the old material instead of painting the old material.

That looks good man. Just need to make a couple of minor adjustments. How much did you pay for the material??

for doing stuff like that on wierd surfaces like on arm rests, you have to give yourself more material than you need i've found. cutting off a lot of excess after its glued in place instead of trying to conserve material by cutting it to approxomate size before applying it. vinal can sometimes be a real bitch to work with eh? i was going to try doing the top of my dash in new vinal, but that'll be a true bitch.

i just thought i could make doing the dash in vinal easier by filling in the little tray thing. sound good?
